Far and away, it would be my Aspire One at just under $400 after WA sales tax. Second would be my old Athlon which cost $210 ($160 plus shipping), and aside from that I have never spent over $70 for anything.

EVGA mobo 790I, EVGA 280 graphics card, Intel 9450 quadro processor, Thermaltake 1200watt power supply, 4 sticks 2GB corsair ram, 2 Digiatl Western 500 GB HD, 2 Mad dog dvd burners, Creative xfi extreme sound card, Samsung 24 inch flat screen monitor. I built my own and I am now currently using it. it took me about a day, oh i also have 3 XP OS disc, 1 windows vista 32 bit OS disk and the other os vista disk is 32/64 bit OEM disk.

My current box cost $50. It's the most expensive piece of hardware I can remember buying. I get most of my hardware for free, since I don't *ever* buy new.

I bought an Osborne 1 in 1981 for $1795. It came "bundled" with CP/M (OS), Wordstar, and other primitive apps. It had a built-in 5" monitor that displayed 80 columns of text; two 5¼" floppy drives, 92k each (single-sided, single-density, as I recall). I got a lot of use out of it.
