Yes! My choir instructor is studying music therapy as a profession. I can be having an absolutely rotten day and all I have to do is put on my iPod. Bare Naked Ladies heals all my blues :)

It certainly has the power to .... I can't even begin to count the times I've turned to music .. to soooooooooooooooooooooothe .. Certain kinds of music combined with an open mind, heart & spirit? Oooooooh yes. :)

Yes, I do. Music has been a Godsend for me and has helped me to make it through some of the saddest times in my life. It always makes me feel better and just revives me with energy. I wouldn't ever want to have to live with it...except for maybe rap; LOL!

music drives emotion. if the ailment can be eased through emotion then music can work. keep in mind music drives emotions based on the emotion of the music, if you are sad listening to "why won't you die" will just push you towards angry and if you need to endulge in anger "dog and butterfly"... ok, being forced to listen to that might help make you angrier like barney the dinosoar does.
