My first computer was an old 386 which I think was made by IBM.

Sinclair ZX81. One of the first (1981/1982); black&white, no sound. I made programs using BASIC, and stored them on a cassetteplayer. (Playing those tapes over an amplifier it sounded like high beeps...) The 16K memory on the back was kinda loose, and when touching it, everything was gone...

I remember my dad had this ancient atari. It was based on some DOS formating code i think. I didn't even know how to start it up. But my first i used was a Compaq.

Timex Sinclair. BASIC was the language, and all programs were on cassette tapes. I still have mine.

At the Office: Compaq Deskpro - 200 Mhz CPU - 32 RAM - That was in 1998, donated from the Department of Labor. At Home: Pionex - 200 Mhz CPU - 32 RAM. That was in 1997, purchased from QVC. It was great in terms of durability. It was donated to a Nursing Home in 2002 and it was running as good as day one.

I think it was a Sinclair one based on 80116 with 512 MK and one floppy. I upgraded it with a 42 MB hard drive pretty soon

A Texas Instruments T994A that had a whopping 16K of memory. My first real computer was a Packard Bell with 256K of memory, dual floppy drives, monochrome amber monitor and no hard drive. By the way, it cost about $1,800 at the time in 1988.

The brand was Zenith back in 1986. It had 2 - 5" floppy drives and a 10 MB hard drive. No windows back then - just DOS and a black screen with green letters.

A sinclair made from a kit($99)that you hook to your tv. You could program in basic and run programs written in basic.
