Gerald McRaney, who played Rick Simon, went on to star in the sitcom Major Dad, which ran from 1989-1993. He's been in quite a few TV movies, and a couple of theatrical releases (none of the titles pop out as popular or well-known movies, though). He's guest-starred in shows like The Commish, Murder She Wrote, JAG, One Tree Hill and The West Wing. In 2005-2006, he was on Deadwood and 2006-2007, he was Johnston Green in the series Jericho.
