  • There is a test that can be administered in a doctor office, no lab needed, that is called A1C. It reads the life of blood cells for 90 day period. It can tell what drugs have gone through the system (although that portion of the test DOES require full lab), as well as the glucose levels over a 90 day span. It is not dis-similar to the tests that are used when you are required to take a pee-test. However, not all drugs show up in the blood cells in a proscribed way. What I mean by that is: certain drugs appear to be other drugs when looked at in the blood stream. Some anti-inflammatory drugs read like THC (the stuff that gets you high in pot), other drugs can read like metabolic steroids. Drug tests for a job generally don't spend the money to have 'good' reads done, so often those tests show use of 7 banned, or unapproved drugs - and will get you fired, or keep you from being hired. One of the reasons I am against drug testing - it is not all that reliable.
