As little as possible. When I sit, I try to let go of all thoughts, perceptions, ideas, feelings, sensations, etc., by silently and gently repeating my Sacred Word. As my practice of sitting continues over a period of years, I find that I am improving in my ability to let go of frustrations, emotions, and other negative situations. God's grace seems to become more powerful in me as the years of sitting continue. The folks who taught me this are at Contemplative Outreach.
