Yes. I peeked in while I was at the courthouse. No one was there.
-
LOL once or twice , I am a Lawyer
-
No, only on TV and in films.
-
Way more times than I would like, but always on someone else's behalf. Only times I had to go to court was for divorce and when I adopted my daughter.
-
Jury duty nearly went to sleep
-
Yes, quite often. I used to sit in the public viewing gallery sometimes, and once I had to testify in a case against my career criminal of a girlfriend, but that's another story. My hometown courtroom is like the really traditional "Old Baily" type of deal. Very intimidating! See the red door at the near end? On any given morning you'll see large groups of very dodgy people milling around it waiting for the court to open. I've been in there a few times, but only as support for friends who had to stand before the man! Directly behind it is the city prison, so anyone there can be taken into the court building directly for their case, via an underground tunnel that pops up in the "dock" pretty cool!
-
Yes, as a Witness, Defendant, Plaintiff, and Juror.
-
Yes - for 2 rounds of jury duty, for the sentencing of the person who murdered my friend's son, and to hear arguments on civil rights cases the agency I work for is involved in.
-
Sadly yes, defending myself.
-
No, but I've been in the hallway outside of the room.
-
Yes, too many times. I got a divorce and had to go to a domestic violence trial. They are kind of like hospitals...uncomfortable, and you get that "I just don't want to be here" feeling.
-
As a viewer, YES. It is like nothing on TV in misdemeanor courts. The process chews you up and spits you out before you know it. The judge and prosecutors are trying to process 400 trials a day and don't waste time. Most results are negotiated and pled down. The perps are mainly teens, hispanics and blacks. Anyone without a lawyer, will hardly get a "hearing" or justice.
-
Yes when I was younger, I used to play in them. My mother was a judge.
-
Yes, when I divorced I had to go to court.
-
Only the kind when you get a speeding ticket, it was small nothing special, and the judge was a jerk!
-
Yes, loads of times. But only in the UK. I've been to around twenty. The most interesting one was the Central Criminal Court - The Old Baily. I find it really interesting going to courts but only when there is an interesting case going on. Heres a picture of the Old Bailey:
-
Yes. LOL. When I was married to my ex, I saw the inside of a few... Since then, a few times dealing with custody issues, and a few more times on jury duty.
-
Yes. And my sentence wasn't pretty.
-
Yes, I've seen it. I was there for the divorce trial of my parents.
-
si. Once when the dude that banged up my bro was being put away for life hoez! heh. sorry the gangster talk. but that's a serious story.
-
Unfortunately, yes. My ex-wife continually is taking me to court after the divorce. She left me with my daughters to raise, and now wants to continue to make my life hell. The whole basis of the court? To say that she is a better parent. If this is true, why are my children still with me? You think she would quit wasting money on the lawyers and court fees and help pay to raise our children!
-
yes! way to many times!
-
Just as a potential juror but I was lucky enough never to get picked.
-

Yes. Jury Duty. They have very comfortable chairs. :)
-
Yes, I had to attend two court cases and write a paper on them for my business law class.

I just completed 32 days of Jury Duty. It was a big profile case, every day on front pages of every newspaper and on radio and TV.
-
Yes, for jury duty.
-
yes i have and it is definately a place i dont like and do not intend to go back to anytime soon
-
Yes. My brother was the defendant.
-
Yes, I've been inside a courtroom too.
-
Yes, I contested a speeding ticket that was unjustly issued. The judge ruled in my favor. (In 1977 during a severe cold snap, I was driving my 1973 Chevy Vega uphill after having just pulled onto the highway. A sheriff's deputy cited me for going 90mph. I testified that my car could only go 45 mph in that situation. He agreed, saying his wife owned one, too.) The deputy was given a dressing down in my presence.
-
Yeah, for my brother's arson trial. Don't worry, he's not crazy. It was just an accident. Geez.
-
Too many times, but never as a defendant.
-
Yes, I have many times. My ex-husband was always taking me to court to try to get custody of our children. It never worked, because most of the times he was lying. I knew God was in control all the time, because I knew I had did the right thing by getting away from him. He was very abusive, and controlling. It was very stressful having to go through the whole process, because it went on for 5yrs., and the court finally set a Parenting plan trial, which took 3 days. There was other times where I got to just be on the phone on a court day, because I live out of state. This was nice. Courts are not fun to have to go to.
-
Yes, I was a witness in a case of assaulting a police officer. The accused was a snotty nosed 17yo with a very bad attitude. He tried to scare another of the witnesses, his own cousin, into not appearing against him, and he stood in front of my husband and looked at us up and down as if to say "Now I know who you are. Watch out." It was not an easy experience. The lawyers try to catch you out on every minute detail. I was also present for an AVO hearing against my former brother in law. That wasn't a pleasant experience, watching my poor sister in law crying. I hope I don't have to do that too often.
-
I went on a tour of the Grand Jury Courtroom in Washington, DC. It was really cool, with way comfortable seats. :)
-
Yes. We did the DARE and we visited the Courthouse and the Jail.
-
I've been to court several times to support my wayward son during his many appearances (I don't go any more....he's 37 and obviously hasn't learned ANYTHING), a Maintenance hearing (I was awarded maintenance for my kids from my first husband, but he never paid it so that was a waste of time and money), my Divorce (Yay!), and I did jury duty for five days in the city (loved the experience....do it if you get the chance).
-
Yes. And the judge said that if I don't get my .... together I'll be seeing the inside of a jail room. That was enough to scare me straight.
-
yes, I had to get my EX put in boot camp cuz he went CRAZY!!!!!!!!!
-
Yes, several times. I've been a victim, a spectator, a witness, a plaintiff and recently a juror. Being a juror was really tough. I've seen court shows and they could never give you the feeling you get from that "view" and perspective. (I never took more notes and been so burden with the responsibility.)
-

-
yes in high school all drivers ed classes 9at least where i grew up) had to attend a session of traffic court. as a driver you did not want your court dae that day cause the judge always ruled harder on that day to prove a point and you fine was usually upheld and you demerrits on insurance went up instead of down like you requested.

-
I have had jury duty 3 times, once I was picked for jury duty & also subpenio(excuse the spelling) for a witness on my friends murder trial on the same day. And because I was subpenio'd I couldn't listen to what was being said I was stuck in the witness room for 3 days until the judge declared a mistrial
-
yah, and my friend sat down and put his foot through the bench! everyone just kinda' froze and staired at him!
-
Yes. I was a court reporter for 7 years and reported many trials and hearings. I've been on Federal jury duty once, but was not picked for a jury. I still work in the court system as a clerk and go into one of our 2 courtrooms for various things as a matter of routine. It's not like you see on TV, although many people are surprised to find this out. It's usually pretty boring.
-
Yeah, I beat a bully up in 7th grade. Psht
-
yep,heaps of times,my dads a lawyer.
-
yes for three times for jury duty. once i sat on it and the others i got out of it.

-
My Dad was a policeman and he took us to court to see what it was like. When I was divorced. Once as a witness. Once I was beaten up by two men and that was the most stressful time in court, having to face them.

Yep, for my divorce. *knocks wood* that's all :-)
-
Yup, three times.

Too many times. My divorce was drawn out too long. I went to court to gain custody of my daughter. And lastly went to court three times to prevent my ex-wife from having visitation restored.
-
Yep, but I'm not going to tell ya why.
-
Yes I was a juror on a murder trial that lasted several days.
-
yes once or twice
-
Unfortunately
-
i was kicked off a jury once for having an opinion LOL
-
Yes I have.
-
yes: I did 3 years for drug possession. It happened almost 10 years ago. So when people say " Lock that person up" , I am not pleased. Even if guilty, I usually side with the defendent. I am white and college educated and was put away under the "mandatory minimum laws that have made our prisons so overcrowded. I feel that I had it coming to me and was guilty, so I did the crime and and paid for it. Still I side with most people that make serious mistakes. I do not like the police(five-o), its just my conditioning. Every time I say "Yes" to being a convicted felon, I re-live my arrest!I could go on and on talking about this forever, so I'll stop here and not raise my blood pressure any further......
-
Yes, but in Russia, where I live
-
Yes i have

Only from the jury box!
