Never gave it much thought until you wrote it.... but now I see! :D
-
yes and Bah Bah Black Sheep is the same too..
-
Ya, I noticed that when I was very young.
-
And Mary Had a Little Lamb - but it's a slightly different beat.
-
yea
-
Sure do, and also Knick, Knack Paddy Whack and the Barney show closer I Love You have the same tune.
-
Pretty much. It surprised me one day when my 22 mo. old daughter started singing them, interchanging the lines. Glad I had a video camera that day.
-
yes they do. =]
-
you know...believe it or not, i actually figured that out when i was about 7 years old. i never told anyone, i just figured every one heard that they were the same tune... i learned something today too... thanks for helping to spread the word!
-
i never notcied that..
-
I didnt find that out until I started my child care course at college.
-
... also Baa Baa Black Sheep - with a slightly different beat.
-
Pretty weird man!
-
Yep.... They sure nuf do.......
-
yes
-
Yes...I always thought it was common knowledge...up until I heard someone squeal that out in delight......and many others were astonished.
-
Yes they do. I learned this when my first born worshiped Barney. I would catch myself humming some of the tunes in line at the grocery store because I heard it twelve times in six hours during the day and realized that those songs were to the same tune. I think the question might really be was it the same person who did all 3 of those songs? Or who copied who?
-
Wow! I never noticed that, but it seems like they do! Thats really neat! =]
-
Yeaaa. Try Getting Two People: One Sing Twinkle Twinkle & The Other Singing The Alphabet One. We Tryed It But Didnt Get Very Far Into The Songs As We Both Started Laughing So Much :)
-
Yes. It's common among children's songs. Probably some teachers change the word in attempts to teach children in the class by sining on the lessons in shcool.
-
Yes they do, just like Chuck Berry's "No Particular Place To Go" and "School Days"
-
YES!
-

Yankee Echo Sarah.
-
yes
-
Well, i noticed this since the first time i heard them. i heard abc first then when i heard twinkle little star, i noticed this immediately. same as baa baa black sheep :)
-
Yes, they do. Also, did you know that Wolfgang Amedeus Mozart wrote a Theme and Variations on the tune "Twinkle, Twinkle"? He apparently borrowed the tune from a folk song that he heard as a child. Mozart also wrote an alphabet song that is much different than "Twinkle, Twinkle".
-
Yes they both have the same tune.
-
Come to think of it...yes.
-
yup .. i realized it when i was playing the piano to my baby cousin :p
-
Holy crap, I just realized that. Thanks. I feel sooooo dumb now, with a toddler in the house I shoul've known better. lol
-
now that is obsevant... they are very close if not identical... that is what i call thinking *.*
-
Because it is a basic, simple tune that people can easily memorize. One probably started out with a slightly different tune, and soon morphed into the "Twinkle" music.
-
yes I have!
-
"Baa Baa Black Sheep", as well. Actually, the tune was an old French folk song ("Ah vous dirai-je, Maman") also used by Mozart in a series of piano variations.
-
Because that tune is like the "Gilligan's Island" theme song and Greensleeves - you can sing ANYTHING to those tunes. Doubt me? Try it.
-
wow it does i never noticed that before thanks
-
OMG..... yeah they do lol thnks i just realized that haha lmao!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Actually it's Baa Baa Black Sheep, the melody is from "Ah! vous dirai-je, Maman"
-
