I think Grandma Roses is right, grapefruit has got to be it. I've used just about all over fruits I can think of and in some way they make a good dessert. I've even sliced kiwis thin and layered then on the top of a cheesecake and they were terrific.
-
Grapes. Not enough flavor. I think.
-
As of now, all the fruits mentioned sound better than a fruit pie I actually ate in a restaurant : Grape pie.

Tomatoe.....

Watermelon? It would be low calorie.

A twist on this question: I've eaten pickle pie and pinto bean pie-NO, I AM NOT KIDDING!-at the Sunglow Cafe in Bicknell, Utah and it is to KILL for! You would never know what you are eating if someone didn't tell you first!

You can try using Miracle fruit. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miracle_fruit It can change how your taste buds taste (not forever though ;) ). Once you bite into a miracle fruit pie, you may not like pie anymore. :) If that's the case, maybe it could be used to help people diet. :D

This started as a comment that almost seemed an answer, so I put it here.I've just read additional fruits for bad pies. But a pink grapefruit would have pretty good pie potential for me, with a light, thin type of crust.Anyway, all the fruits here sound better than my real-life YUCK grape pie experience. Similar to smooth and crunchy peanut butter variations? This grape pie had the consistency of very thick, settled, lumpy grape jelly. all stuck between a top and bottom crust. ( Thank God for the crust.) And though I was with friends in a restaurant, I had ordered the pie at the end of a joyous-yet-important, large-group occasion meal. The pie was excessively sweet, to the extreme that a lemon is sour. Way too sweet, way into "uncomfortable territory" sweet. I just continually took bites and smiled painfully.

Watermelon! :)

Fruit of the Loom.

I wouldn't have thought rhubarb would be good in a pie, but I would have been wrong. Maybe I'll withhold judgement until I try whatever pie I think sounds gross.
-
Pickle pie.
-
Grapes. They're delicious on their own, but I can't imagine them being good in a pie.
-

-
Tutti fruity candy would certainly not go well in a pie.
