  • We have a fixed tom that does the same thing. He can go for days and weeks (so far it has been a month since the last cat attack) being warm and snuggly, and the next minute his ears will go flat back when you reach to pet him and chase your leg when you go past as if it were prey. And it hurts. We let him out for a while and when he comes back in it is as if nothing happened. I have been curious about this myself. I think someone in the house is playing too hard with him until he gets pissed, but won't admit it.
