  • I take the same walk every day, and I like to watch the plants growing in the various places where I walk by, or just day dream about how I would photograph the scenery. Especially if photoing it would be a challenge to make it look good or interesting. I often see color combinations that I can incorporate into my designs for the gifts I make. Sometimes I even take a notebook with me to make notes, so I won't forget. The shadow patterns on the ground and buildings as I pass by change with the passing seasons and I find that interesting. It's mostly a matter of seeing what there is to see.
  • That's quite tricky. I have a 40 minute walk to work every day and it can get boring so I have my iPod with me. I have seen people reading on their walk to work, which would distract you from the boredom but is slightly dangerous. Are there definitely no alternative routes, just to break up your routine? How about giving a friend a call that you haven't spoken to in a while (providing you have a mobile phone of course). Or set yourself a challenge, e.g. see how fast you can complete your walk, or even start jogging from the train station to your home to get some beneficial exercise.
  • Try stopping at a bar for a drink! Might even make friends.
  • maybe you should take the bus and then you might not have to walk as far
  • Listen to taped books! Book stores and libraries have them. Take a bag of food and feed squirrels or birds or a dog bone and make friends with somebody's dog. Use you cell phone camera and take one picture a day. Sidewalk, road, a building, flowers, trees, buildings, sky, all weathers, animals, people (be creative take a picture of their shoes for instance) at the end of 3 or 6 or 12 months create a book on Shutterfly.com. Call it The Walk or something. Or pick one thing like a tree and take one picture a day for 6 months then create a video or book showing the time lapse changes. Or choose one exact spot and photo anything that is in that spot. Use it as an exercise walk see how fast you can walk it. Doing that twice a day see if you feel or see any changes. Add another 15 minutes and look for changes.
