So many to choose from! In the current climate of the US, I'd have to say the most dangerous stereotype is that "all Muslims are terrorists". And it is SO unfair.

The one that bugs me most often is the 'dumb blonde' stereotype. I'm not blond, and I'm not dumb, but I don't think it is funny at all. After that, I think I agree with Anon that the image of teenagers as worthless, brainless, and untrustworthy is a really bad stereotype. That one actually makes me mad, because if you insist on treating people, esp. young people, like that, then a lot of them will start to try to live up to that image from spite. Some stereotypes can be funny, but mostly, none of them really are. They are often quite cruel.

That Mexicans are worthless- they work their a**es off to support their household and even through all of that, they find time to have some beer and party a little. That White people are power-driven - there's absolutely NOTHING wrong with wanting everything out of life that it has to offer. That Bush is the worst president ever- do your history project on past presidents and maybe you'll understand where I'm coming from. That anyone wearing a turban or hijab on their head is a terrorist or suicide bomber. That Americans are fat and lazy. The list goes on, but this is just part of the reason that this nation is so divided. I'm so glad that atleast ONE person looks beyond all of the stereotypical b.s.- that'd be me :)

All nationalities stereotypes annoy the f out of me- beautiful, amazing, fascinating etc.. people come from every creed, country, sex, class or what ever and unfortunately, so do shitty people.. That women are bad drivers- please... most women really shouldn't drive, but men cause most accidents.. That some people tell me that because I am good looking I should have an easy and successful life.. I should have lots of money and lots of sex and that I just complicate my own life- they may be right. But what am I to do, when I believe this is all too shallow for me to deal with? That people that have animals(pets)have difficulties with human relations/ lack of human contact-WTF?

all kids in mill valley are rich. totally not true. i live in mill valley and my family isnt rich, and i know of a whole lot more families who arent rich either. i will admit that to buy a house and live in mill valley today is expensive and that you would have to be rich even though average house price has dropped a little bit, its still pretty expensive. i have lived here for 15 yrs when it was cheaper.

I have two that bugs the hello out of me. First is that anyone who owns firearms or wants to own firearms is some kind of person that wishes for violence, is irresponsible or is an idiot. That is very wrong and if people would actually do research for themselves instead of getting spoonfed all their beliefs, then they would see that it is not so. You have nutcases, to be sure, though they aren't as many as most anti-self defense people would have you believe. Secondly, I hate the stereotype that anyone who prepares for disasters (natural or man-made), disagrees with public opinion, wants to close the borders, has a lot of firearms and homeschools their children are anti-government fanatics. This is totally hyped and as with the above, people judge a whole group by the actions of one person. They aren't criminals or psychotics to be shunned by society. They have a different way of doing things and wish for a return to normalcy that we haven't seen in some years. That's just two of them that bug me. I have more. Though that's for another time.

that overweight people are not fit... don't give me that shit! when i was in grade 7 i weighted 180lbs (i later found out it's from a medical thing, but that's besides the point). I could run just as fast and far as anyone else, and i did. I rode my bike everywhere, i was never inside on the couch, i took good care of myself and ate healthy. People just just seem to get this idea in there head that overweight people are the way they are because they are lazy... that's not the case for everyone!!

Living in Australia, I get this alot, and it's worse than any American stereotype I've come across. All aboriginal people are criminals, they can't hold on to jobs, they 'are genetically comfortable' with alcohol because they don't have the 'lineage' for it (bullshit), that they all smell and should live in the bush, that they are unable to take care of themselves, and that it's their fault that they live in third-world conditions. It's disgusting how ignorant people can be - they see racism against Australian aboriginals as justified.

Okay, I held this stereotype until I became one. I once had a History class that I needed to add. So I went to one teacher and he was great big fat guy. SO I decided to try another prof at the same tim eframe. I assumed the fat guy would be stupid and lazy. Boy was I WRONG!!!!!! Now I am fat and I see that same judgement in people's eyes. I am intelligent, motivated, and pretty damn witty. But at least I understand the steretype.

I come from Mississippi, and that apparently makes me a hick (already stated by.. Anonymous). My dad is German, I am suddenly a Nazi (already stated by.. Missmysyd). My mother is Greek, and now I believe in Zeus (already stated by.. Peternator30000). Overall these stereotypes make me a Nazi hick who believes in the Olympian gods.

I am 100% Puerto Rican and I don't fit into any of the stereotypes that a lot of people in the USA have of us. I was in the NAVY and I suffered a lot of discrimination because of stereotypes. I have nothing to do with the Puerto Rican/New York culture that is the main source of those stereotypes. I am very organized, disciplined and I have a quiet, mild personality. I only listen to Country Music. Loud people make me sick, plus many other details that are 100% the opposite of what many people thought I was supposed to like or be like while I was living there.

I've been verbally abused because of my asian and height factors. I hate the stereotype that says that Asian women make good sexual object, because of their size. That's NOT they way to view a human being! I keep being laughed at because they say that asian men are small, in more more than one way, which isn't true. Every man is different! I was always picked last during the selection of teams, because I was only 5'6" and for that people related height with strength. The bigger you are, the stronger you are. The shorter you are, the weaker you are. Nevermind the fact that I benched 220lb at 16 years of age and ran the mile in 5 minutes flat! I wish people would keep an open mind on issues. Stereotypes lay down a foundation of predestined characteristics of a person or group. I ask that when you have children, you teach them to see through the ignorance and push through the barriers that have been set.

All stereotypes are terrible, though I have to say the one that bothers me most must be the 'goth' one. I was called a goth oh so many times, and I really hate it. Yes, I did dress in darker colours (didn't wear much colour more than red or purple, with the occasional pink.), my writings were dark, my nails were black... but who's place is it to judge me, or anyone by how we dress? Maybe I was trying to be myself, to show my true colours (that weren't very colourful, really.). I've been through some stuff, as everyone has, and expressed it in my way, and that was it. Why should I belabelled a goth, when all I was striving to be was myself?

The stereotype that I am racist because I am white. For example: Working in a night club and a black guy comes up and asks for a double vodka and red bull. I reply with "that's gonna be £8.20", straight off the bat without having to type it in to the till. He gives me a funny look and asks "what?" I start typing it in and I repeat the price. He replies with "alright." I make it, then put it in front of him and say "that's £8.20 please mate?" He becks me towards him as if to make sure I can hear him with the volume of the music (which is common) and he says "what, you think I won't pay it because I'm black?" That I find is the worst, racists of racism. Slightly hypocritical!

Is there a word for intolerance of intolerance? It seems to me that by trying to control what people think or say because they have a different perspective than yours is intolerant. Intolerant people now become a stereotype. You don't have to be educated on a subject to have an opinion about that subject. The stereotype that bugs me the most is intolerant people.
