No, not all Christians believe this but because some Christians have said it.. a blanket has been put over "Christians" labeling them as a whole. Anyone that tells you that all Christians feel that way are very, very wrong. I am not a Christian as I do not live for Christ as I should but I do believe the Christian beliefs. .. I know a great, great many Christians and it is tiring reading people say that Christians think you will go to hell if you do not live certain ways even though you try to live right and be a good person.. you CANNOT judge an entire group based on the ones who do pass judgement and think they are above others... in every group of people there are those who bend the rules or twist things.. human nature.. not just those who are of a specific religion. Some people within the Christian religion will tell you that you will go to hell if you do not do this or that but here is the thing... if you believe in Jesus Christ and/or God .. He judges your heart ..we judge by our standards which in my opinion are rather poor.. Faith is a personal journey and experience and anyone trying to butt into yours.. obviously has mean spirited things in mind to intrude on such a personal thing as your faith/beliefs. He specifically says man will hurt you and do you wrong .. so do not take the judgement from another to mean the truth. NO ONE .. not a Christian .. not anyone else.. can tell you your fate. You ARE offered eternal life through Jesus Christ but no MAN here on earth knows your fate.. only God. - People who DO make such assumptions as to where you will end up should spend more time worrying over their own fate and less on other's. just my opinion.

When I've questioned Christians about this issue, they've all said the only way to salvation is through belief in Jesus Christ. Therefore, in Christian doctrine, you are going to hell regardless of your personal morality and actions if you do not recognize Jesus as the savior. While they may not be judging me personally they still are concerned that a "good person like me" is going to hell. There are quite a few Christians of my acquaintance who pray for my salvation daily, and when I learned of that it made me quite uncomfortable because I do not want it. However, it is their belief that they are doing the right thing, so I have let that go.

Most would say that yes, you are still going to hell. Several Christian sects believe that you can make it to heaven if you live a good life and you are trying your best to do what God has asked, but you still have to be baptized or be a member of the church. I am a christian, and what I believe is that you can't get to heaven by works, but by believing in Jesus Christ and what He did for us. This verse in the Bible pretty much sums up what I believe. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God 9. not by works, so that no one can boast. the sad thing is that the general attitude I get( in recent times) in many places and from many people who participate on AB, that most people get the impression that christianity is some kind of stuck-up, 'holier than thou', judgemental, religion etc. Which in many cases it IS, but that is not how real christians are supposed to act. I would never try to force my faith or beliefs on anyone. That simply is not the way christians should act.

True Christians will say yes to this everytime. If they say no or maybe not or whatever then they are not true Christians. The point has been made by Christianity that no one enters the kingdom of heaven except through Jesus Christ. The road to hell is paved with good intentions, that is a Christian quote. Simply living a good life and having the best of intentions is not enough, you must live your life for God, not yourself or anyone else. There are no exceptions and there is no alternative.

If you are told that by somebody close to you, time to leave. Put some distance between you. If not, you'll be sorry later. Hell, Heaven, God and all of the religious contraints that others try to place on us are just that...constraints and controls. There is no truth in them. You've said you're a good person, be happy with that. Move on to others that will not judge you.

I am Christian and do not personally believe this because I don't think a loving God would do this. However, it is often said in pastors' messages I have heard that if you do not profess a belief in Jesus dying for your sins, that you are not 'saved' and therefore will not go to Heaven.

We don't judge who is and who isn't. What we do is let you know what christ said and I paraphrase...if you don't accept me into your heart and ask to be forgiven you will never see paradise. God is the father of all His children. And the voice of the One Father speaks to heart of each one of those children. Each soul, whether Christian or not is capable of hearing and responding to that voice. You suggest that you are living a good life. This may be so indeed. But we are called to deepen our goodness, continually, to be conformed to the mind of Christ which is Love. Love that is pure, love that is strong, full of integrity and honour, empty of deciet, love that is selfless not selfish. Love that sacrifices itself for the sake of the beloved.

In strict theory (catholic, at least): You still have the "original sin", since you're not baptized, but there's a "special place" for non-baptized people in purgatory, where they'll wait until the end of days come and the final judgement is set upon us. Jesus said in the Bible that He is the Only Way to Heaven.(John 14:6) He also said in John chapter 3 that you must be born again. (saved- given new life in Christ) I'm not trying to offend you or start an arguement, I'm just telling you what your Creator, Jesus Christ, said. He loves you and wants you to reign in Glory with Him, but you must accept Him and HIM ALONE as your personal Lord and Saviour. Your works and morality are not good enough in God's eyes. i'm not christian either. actually i was catholic. before i converted i had a LOT of talks with some priests that i consider (not considered) friends. they never for one minute told me that i was going to hell, and they still don't tell me that. i'm a muslim now. and no i don't believe christians are going to hell for being non-muslim. what can i say, faith is a personal thing

Yes, most to all Christians are going to say you'll still go to hell. Why? Because the ONLY way to get to Heaven is to admit you're a sinner and ask for Jesus Christ to be your Lord and Saviour. If you're not a Christian though, I don't see why you're concerned. However, you obviously must have some faith in Him if you believe in Heaven and hell and worry about this topic.

I'm in the same boat as you. I think that is why you have some that would try and convince you other wise. That is why some will treat you with distain and others will just keep their distance. I find it weird that Jesus was in favor of all men and women to be able to passage to heaven and for that he was crucified.(Died for our sins). Yet most modern Baptists treat all others like the Jews of Jesus' time treated him. So for the most part I view them as a very dysfunctional family and care not what they think of me.

I have always been taught that the way to heaven is not by "works" but by grace through Jesus. As for you going to hell...that is not for me to say. For the sake of argument say there is a omnipotent deity that created the universe. To beleive that anyone, would know the anything, about this being, is the single greatest display of human arrogance. Im a Christian but I don't belive in everything in the bible, because the bible was maded by man not god. I think as long as you belive there is a god from any religions you go to heave. Speaking as a Christian, I cannot and will not say that you are going to hell because I don't know. I will tell you this though, being a good person won't get you to heaven. There is only one way to heaven, Jesus Christ. You must be born-again. You must accept the free gift of eternal life provided by Jesus. You must take a step and believe that Jesus is who He claims to be. Of course if you decide not to take a step of faith and feel that being good is good enough then you will most likely disregard what I'm saying. Romans 10:9-10 "That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved. 10 For with the heart man believes to righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made to salvation." I'm simply relaying to you what Scripture says about salvation.

The question is, why would it matter what anyone thinks except you and the God you honor? God doesn't take advice from Christians, it is the other way around, I hear. You are good. Why would you go to hell? God is not a Christian. Nor does he favor any certain religion.

Here's the problem. There are only two places available, Heaven, and Hell. Heaven is God's Home. Why would He bring a total stranger, no matter how 'good', if He doesn't know you? Second, God is Perfect, and requires perfection in His Presence. You may indeed be good by your own definition. But can you honestly say you've NEVER done anything wrong in your entire life? Without accepting the free gift of salvation, nobody actually qualifies for Heaven. And that doesn't leave a lot of alternatives.

Speaking as a Christian, I can say "Amen" to several earlier responses who cited scripture to support their beliefs. Jesus Himself said "I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through me." That sounds rather narrow and elitist, but it isn't, really. Just before He died, Jesus also said "It is finished." I believe that, by saying this, Jesus was declaring that He had indeed completed the work of salvation for all mankind by offering Himself as the sacrificial lamb. His blood washed away all of the sins of all of the world. And it is His blood that cleanses us of all unrighteousness - even to the point that we can actually stand righteous in the presence of a holy and perfect God. So to anyone trusting in their own goodness to get them to heaven, I say: "When your life is ended and you stand before God, the question asked of you will not be 'What did you do?' but 'What did you do with Jesus?'" How anyone could reject the kind of love that God offers to all of us is beyond me. But, even if everything else I believe turns out to be wrong, I know in the heart of my heart that God is in every way righteous and just, and, therefore, justified in dealing with us in whatever manner He chooses.

Oh yeah! You're gonna rot in "hell" (whatever that place is located at) for eternity! You've gotta go through JESUS....hold on, I need to get this right, my father is a baptist preacher but it's been a while since last time I was in church......ahhhh.....yes! You gotta go through......or under......or behind a fellow named JESUS and then......ahhhh....let me see....gee what else?.....oh you've gotta speak in tongue too......I think! A good way to answer this question is with a hypothetical story. Say you are caught for speeding. The cop clocked you going 110 in a 65. Several other people saw you going that fast including three people in your own car. You would never think to stand before a judge and tell him that you don't deserve to be punished because you are otherwise a good person. If the judge is just, he will still understand you deserve to be punished for what you did. The Bible tells us that if we do anything--ANYTHING--wrong in our entire lives, we deserve to go to hell because it is not innocent: it is rebellion against God. Because we have all done something wrong, we ALL deserve hell. At the same time, God loves us and made a way for us to escape hell by allowing His Son to accept the punishment that was intended for me on Himself. The idea is called "Substitutionary Atonement." Jesus Christ took your place so you wouldn't have to worry about whether or not you are "good enough" to get to heaven. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man cometh unto the Father but by me." If you want assurance that you are in fact going to heaven when you die, all it takes is a simple request to Jesus to save you from the things you have done wrong and forgive you for them. That's it.

Without Christ your works are dead. Jesus said in John 3:3 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again (from above), he cannot see the kingdom of God. You don't go to heaven thru "being good" or "doing good". Psalm 14:1b They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good. Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. The gift that God gives is saving faith.

God is judge not me. We have to meet his standards and that is not how good we are.

The Bible teaches that a person cannot earn their way into Heaven by practicing good works. A true Christian is created by God to do the good works without he or she boasting about it. Ephesians 2:8-10 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."

im hardly a Christian and do mostly all you do, but you seem better than me!! as i dont do lots for charity lately but apparently God needs you to love ♥ him etc and do what he wants ..he says good deeds dont get ya into heaven

FIRST: in Christianity, there is no one who "lives a good life" excepting Jesus. NO ONE - excepting Jesus and PERHAPS excepting those who die very young - are DESERVING of Heaven. *** Answering the question: that depends on the flavor of Christian. Some would immediately answer, "Yes, of course you are. Those who do not believe in Jesus will not receive eternal salvation." Some would be just as quick to answer to the contrary (especially those Christians who don't believe in Hell, of which there are many, mostly minor sects.) And: some of us would admit that we don't know one way or the other. We only know what the Bible teaches, that those who are devout believers/followers are guaranteed eternal life, and that no such guarantee is given to others.

I am not a "believer" and I know I will NOT be going to hell.

If you don't believe in God, that means you only believe in yourself, which is classed as idolatry in the bible. Unbelief means you are not unified to God and it is God that gives you life. Romans 11:20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not high-minded, but fear: for if God did not spare the natural branches [because of unbelief], He will not spare you either. Take notice, therefore, of the kindness and severity of God: severity to those who fell, but kindness to you, if you continue in His kindness, And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graft them in again. Hebrews 3:12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. Hebrews 4:6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief: Gods wrath is described as fire. Of course it's up to God to judge.

According to the Evangelicals, "I am the Way, the Truth and the Light, Nobody will go to the Kingdom of Heaven except through me" John 14.6 lol

Do you really think you can buy or earn the stairway to heaven? In all other religions salvation is based upon what you do and God is helpless. In Christianity salvation is based upon what God has done. I've never been to heaven and I do not know the way there. Do you? If only there were a man that came down to us from heaven and will lead us into the way. Thank God that there is. John 3:12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? 13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. 14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: 15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

I only want to be "saved" by a Fireman. 😄

That is not for me to decide. If you go to hell, it is your choice, The Lord God gave you free will to determine your life and future.
