  • Basically yes!!!!
  • In most cases: yes.
  • No, not all Christians believe this but because some Christians have said it.. a blanket has been put over "Christians" labeling them as a whole. Anyone that tells you that all Christians feel that way are very, very wrong. I am not a Christian as I do not live for Christ as I should but I do believe the Christian beliefs. .. I know a great, great many Christians and it is tiring reading people say that Christians think you will go to hell if you do not live certain ways even though you try to live right and be a good person.. you CANNOT judge an entire group based on the ones who do pass judgement and think they are above others... in every group of people there are those who bend the rules or twist things.. human nature.. not just those who are of a specific religion. Some people within the Christian religion will tell you that you will go to hell if you do not do this or that but here is the thing... if you believe in Jesus Christ and/or God .. He judges your heart ..we judge by our standards which in my opinion are rather poor.. Faith is a personal journey and experience and anyone trying to butt into yours.. obviously has mean spirited things in mind to intrude on such a personal thing as your faith/beliefs. He specifically says man will hurt you and do you wrong .. so do not take the judgement from another to mean the truth. NO ONE .. not a Christian .. not anyone else.. can tell you your fate. You ARE offered eternal life through Jesus Christ but no MAN here on earth knows your fate.. only God. - People who DO make such assumptions as to where you will end up should spend more time worrying over their own fate and less on other's. just my opinion.
  • You wouldn't have if you were Christian.
  • Where you go is not up to Christians
  • When I've questioned Christians about this issue, they've all said the only way to salvation is through belief in Jesus Christ. Therefore, in Christian doctrine, you are going to hell regardless of your personal morality and actions if you do not recognize Jesus as the savior. While they may not be judging me personally they still are concerned that a "good person like me" is going to hell. There are quite a few Christians of my acquaintance who pray for my salvation daily, and when I learned of that it made me quite uncomfortable because I do not want it. However, it is their belief that they are doing the right thing, so I have let that go.
  • Depends on the type of Christian you're talking about.
  • I would be less concerned about what they think will happen to you, and be more concerned about what you think about yourself. You are your own worst critic, so if you feel your going to hell, take some marshmellows with you. - Look at it this way my friend, it is obvious that as of now this is not the top rated A because people are displease with it in some way because it does not coincide with their ideal mindset. But why should I stress such energy to impress people with my wit. They either like what I have to say or they don't, but what matters most is what I think. I would not be Sunblynd if I thought otherwise. My individualism proceedeth me, and makes me stand out, unique, though others may view me as just being sarchastic or even arrogant, it is sometimes hard to discern tone. The same apply's in life my friend, you can't please everyone all of the time, so you might as well just focus on pleasing and enhancing your own individualism.
  • Most would say that yes, you are still going to hell. Several Christian sects believe that you can make it to heaven if you live a good life and you are trying your best to do what God has asked, but you still have to be baptized or be a member of the church. I am a christian, and what I believe is that you can't get to heaven by works, but by believing in Jesus Christ and what He did for us. This verse in the Bible pretty much sums up what I believe. Ephesians 2:8-9 (New International Version) 8. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God 9. not by works, so that no one can boast. the sad thing is that the general attitude I get( in recent times) in many places and from many people who participate on AB, that most people get the impression that christianity is some kind of stuck-up, 'holier than thou', judgemental, religion etc. Which in many cases it IS, but that is not how real christians are supposed to act. I would never try to force my faith or beliefs on anyone. That simply is not the way christians should act.
  • True Christians will say yes to this everytime. If they say no or maybe not or whatever then they are not true Christians. The point has been made by Christianity that no one enters the kingdom of heaven except through Jesus Christ. The road to hell is paved with good intentions, that is a Christian quote. Simply living a good life and having the best of intentions is not enough, you must live your life for God, not yourself or anyone else. There are no exceptions and there is no alternative.
  • You dont have to be a christian to believe in jesus people who folowed christ were called that
  • If you are told that by somebody close to you, time to leave. Put some distance between you. If not, you'll be sorry later. Hell, Heaven, God and all of the religious contraints that others try to place on us are just that...constraints and controls. There is no truth in them. You've said you're a good person, be happy with that. Move on to others that will not judge you.
  • I am Christian and do not personally believe this because I don't think a loving God would do this. However, it is often said in pastors' messages I have heard that if you do not profess a belief in Jesus dying for your sins, that you are not 'saved' and therefore will not go to Heaven.
  • oluckboy, get away from this one. It's a circular argument, completely without reason, and nothing to be gained from it. Have faith in YOURSELF and forget the relionists views.
  • We don't judge who is and who isn't. What we do is let you know what christ said and I paraphrase...if you don't accept me into your heart and ask to be forgiven you will never see paradise. We didn't make the rules, we just do the best we can like anyone else. I have a hard time with the whole hell thing anyway.
  • God is the father of all His children. And the voice of the One Father speaks to heart of each one of those children. Each soul, whether Christian or not is capable of hearing and responding to that voice. You suggest that you are living a good life. This may be so indeed. But we are called to deepen our goodness, continually, to be conformed to the mind of Christ which is Love. Love that is pure, love that is strong, full of integrity and honour, empty of deciet, love that is selfless not selfish. Love that sacrifices itself for the sake of the beloved.
  • In strict theory (catholic, at least): You still have the "original sin", since you're not baptized, but there's a "special place" for non-baptized people in purgatory, where they'll wait until the end of days come and the final judgement is set upon us. Then you might go to heaven... =) I'm agnostic, btw, but was baptized (because of my parents), so I'm not going there!! hehe
  • No such place exisit, the Hebrew and Greek words translated in some Bibles as “hell” merely designate the common grave of dead humans. It is not a hot place of torment. It is, rather, a place of rest, from which the dead will come forth in the resurrection. (Ecclesiastes 9:10; Acts 24:15) Oscar Cullmann, professor at the Theological Faculty of the University of Basel, Switzerland, and of the Sorbonne, in Paris, speaks of the “radical difference between the Christian expectation of the resurrection of the dead and the Greek belief in the immortality of the soul.” Correctly, he says that “the fact that later Christianity effected a link between the two beliefs . . . is not in fact a link at all but renunciation of one [the Bible doctrine of the resurrection] in favour of the other [the pagan belief in the immortality of the human soul].”—Italics ours. If you would like more info leave a question.
  • If you end up there save me a place in line.
  • Really, why even give a shit what those deluded fools think. They are living in a darkness and calling it light, a prison and calling it freedom. Save yourself a lot of mental contortionism and think about what YOU want god to be like!! Don't be another loser and just accept the emaciated, puny little neurotic deity they try to push on the world! Of course they'll say that your whole existence depends upon belief in the most irrational aspect of their dogma, if they didn't have some way to control their believers by fear, they wouldn't have control at all. If you really think about it, the Christian model of GOD is a gross insult to whatever god there really is. They presume to dictate the very nature of a god to the world! They create a monsterous composite of all the worst aspects of HUMAN character; anger, sorrow, failure, jealousy, indecision, need and call it a GOD! The only god! A god to be feared! What a crock of shit! They are determined to think small. God is not that sickly little wimp they scream about. Ask yourself, what would the source of everything need?
  • If you believe that God is good and you are doing good in your daily life I would say that would be enough for a good GOD. If it's not then that kinda makes god a dick dosn't it. Sure the Christianity lays devine claim on access to heaven and the only way to get there is threw JC but if thats the case then everyone should see that as the case. There are other religions all over other parts of the planet that have never herd of JC, or ever had the opertunity to accept JC because of their faith to their absolute belief in their religion (so what about them?). Heck in JC's home town, that whole corner of the world Christianity barely has a foothold, other beliefs dominate there. JC hung with people that a good portion of these religous types would cast judgment on in a second claiming they know gods will. Be careful with people who follow the 11th comandment "Thou Shall Not Question" who are always willing spout some bible phrases as if mans will didnt play any part in the writing of the bible or the revisions and so on and so on. To the best of my knowledge god only played a part in writing 10 things and they were the comandments. Everyone has their belief and sure there are some that are willing to go to war, die, kill, or "break up" over their beliefs and some of the baggage that comes with that belief rather then accept others views or put their own views in question. My belief is that the higher power that exhists is got to be pretty pissed with what people get away with doing in HIS (her/its) name claiming they are so versed so rightious that they are now linked with gods will and now they can be god and are granted the divinity to be judge, jury, executioner and cast their ill begotten wills and smite the children of god (as we all are god children. arn't we?)
  • Jesus said in the Bible that He is the Only Way to Heaven.(John 14:6) He also said in John chapter 3 that you must be born again. (saved- given new life in Christ) I'm not trying to offend you or start an arguement, I'm just telling you what your Creator, Jesus Christ, said. He loves you and wants you to reign in Glory with Him, but you must accept Him and HIM ALONE as your personal Lord and Saviour. Your works and morality are not good enough in God's eyes. The Bible says that our righteousness is as filthy rags. It also says in Romans that there is none that doeth good. Some may tell you to just trust yourself and not listen to religionists... but I'm not talking about religion, I'm talking Jesus, the One who did for you what religion could never do for you. If you trust yourself, Satan will laugh at you. He doesn't want you to accept Christ. The devil hates your guts! Whether or not you accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour is your decision though. Thank you and God bless you!
  • If all of the first part is true, don't bother yourself at all with your question here. Just doesn't matter what other things. You are you, and you're a good person. If you're comfortable with that, then just tell yourself that ... Those who matter don't mind. And those who mind don't matter!
  • I wouldn't worry a hoot what they were thinking. You have made your own decisions for your own behaviour, so you behave your chosen way through choice rather than by dictat. As long as your behaviour is in the interests of yourself and Society generally, keep at it!!!! I commend you for your spirit of common interest. I do just the same.
  • most probably but if you truly weren't a christian, that wouldn't bother you because after all, heaven and hell don't exsist right?
  • i'm not christian either. actually i was catholic. before i converted i had a LOT of talks with some priests that i consider (not considered) friends. they never for one minute told me that i was going to hell, and they still don't tell me that. i'm a muslim now. and no i don't believe christians are going to hell for being non-muslim. what can i say, faith is a personal thing
  • Yes, most to all Christians are going to say you'll still go to hell. Why? Because the ONLY way to get to Heaven is to admit you're a sinner and ask for Jesus Christ to be your Lord and Saviour. If you're not a Christian though, I don't see why you're concerned. However, you obviously must have some faith in Him if you believe in Heaven and hell and worry about this topic.
  • The Gospel Of Luke Chapter 18 11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. 12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. 13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. 14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
  • yes i do
  • The crazy ones think so, but notice the word crazy. But the ones like myself say you are going to heaven.
  • I'm in the same boat as you. I think that is why you have some that would try and convince you other wise. That is why some will treat you with distain and others will just keep their distance. I find it weird that Jesus was in favor of all men and women to be able to passage to heaven and for that he was crucified.(Died for our sins). Yet most modern Baptists treat all others like the Jews of Jesus' time treated him. So for the most part I view them as a very dysfunctional family and care not what they think of me.
  • Regardles of what they think, by my understanding of their own system they don't decide - so why care.
  • Sadly i THINK so
  • You don't need to worry about what they think, they don't decide for you. They don't even know if there is a hell. What makes you think a human being with the same brain as you knows if you are going to hell....They are making the shit up.
  • Only those who are extremely naive, or just extreme.
  • I have always been taught that the way to heaven is not by "works" but by grace through Jesus. As for you going to hell...that is not for me to say. It kind of rubs me the wrong way when people do that, say someone is going to hell,..for whatever reasons. Only God has that power/right to make that decision.
  • I believe that God is the only one to judge where you will go. No one else!
  • Just ask God for guide you to the true path.. you have to discover all the religions read it search for the book which has no mistakes.. Christian book has a lot of MISTAKES its not the right religion.
  • its according to who you talk to some say you will go stright to hell buts others will say you will be in limbo a place between heaven and hell for those who did good but not forgiven
  • You may not realize it. You may not admit it. But, you are a christian.
  • Probably, because they don't think that you are not following the true faith. However, in my opinion I think that you will go to heaven
  • never.your activities are like Muslim so you will go heaven.

Will ye then admit the truth ? 056.058 Have ye seen that which ye emit ? 056.059 Do ye create it or are We the Creator ? 056.060 We mete out death among you, and We are not to be outrun, 056.061 That We may transfigure you and make you what ye know not. 056.062 And verily ye know the first creation. Why, then, do ye not reflect ? 056.063 Have ye seen that which ye cultivate ? 056.064 Is it ye who foster it, or are We the Fosterer ? 056.065 If We willed, We verily could make it chaff, then would ye cease not to exclaim: 056.066 Lo! we are laden with debt! 056.067 Nay, but we are deprived! 056.068 Have ye observed the water which ye drink ? 056.069 Is it ye who shed it from the raincloud, or are We the Shedder ? 056.070 If We willed We verily could make it bitter. Why then, give ye not thanks ? 056.071 Have ye observed the fire which ye strike out; 056.072 Was it ye who made the tree thereof to grow, or were We the grower ? 056.073 We, even We, appointed it a memorial and a comfort for the dwellers in the wilderness. 056.074 Therefor (O Muhammad), praise the name of thy Lord, the Tremendous. 056.075 Nay, I swear by the places of the stars - 056.076 And lo! that verily is a tremendous oath, if ye but knew - 056.077 That (this) is indeed a noble Qur'an 056.078 In a Book kept hidden 056.079 Which none toucheth save the purified, 056.080 A revelation from the Lord of the Worlds. 056.081 Is it this Statement that ye scorn, 056.082 And make denial thereof your livelihood ? 056.083 Why, then, when (the soul) cometh up to the throat (of the dying) 056.084 And ye are at that moment looking 056.085 - And We are nearer unto him than ye are, but ye see not - 056.086 Why then, if ye are not in bondage (unto Us), 056.087 Do ye not force it back, if ye are truthful ? 056.088 Thus if he is of those brought nigh, 056.089 Then breath of life, and plenty, and a Garden of delight. 056.090 And if he is of those on the right hand, 056.091 Then (the greeting) "Peace be unto thee" from those on the right hand. 056.092 But if he is of the rejecters, the erring, 056.093 Then the welcome will be boiling water 056.094 And roasting at hell-fire. 056.095 Lo! this is certain truth. 056.096 Therefor (O Muhammad) praise the name of thy Lord, the Tremendous.
  • Most Christians would agree that this is what BEING a Christian is based upon. It's pretty clear. John Chapter 3 Christ's discourse with Nicodemus. John's testimony. English (Douay-Rheims) 1 And there was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. 2 This man came to Jesus by night and said to him: Rabbi, we know that thou art come a teacher from God; for no man can do these signs which thou dost, unless God be with him. 3 Jesus answered and said to him: Amen, amen, I say to thee, unless a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 4 Nicodemus saith to him: How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born again? 5 Jesus answered: Amen, amen, I say to thee, unless a man be born again of water and the Holy Ghost, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. Unless a man be born again, etc... By these words our Saviour hath declared the necessity of baptism; and by the word water it is evident that the application of it is necessary with the words (Matthew 28:19). 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh: and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Wonder not that I said to thee: You must be born again. 8 The Spirit breatheth where he will and thou hearest his voice: but thou knowest not whence he cometh and whither he goeth. So is every one that is born of the Spirit. 9 Nicodemus answered and said to him: How can these things be done? 10 Jesus answered and said to him: Art thou a master in Israel, and knowest not these things? 11 Amen, amen, I say to thee that we speak what we know and we testify what we have seen: and you receive not our testimony. 12 If I have spoken to you earthly things, and you believe not: how will you believe, if I shall speak to you heavenly things? 13 And no man hath ascended into heaven, but he that descended from heaven, the Son of man who is in heaven. 14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the desert, so must the Son of man be lifted up: 15 That whosoever believeth in him may not perish, but may have life everlasting. 16 For God so loved the world, as to give his only begotten Son: that whosoever believeth in him may not perish, but may have life everlasting. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world, to judge the world: but that the world may be saved by him. 18 He that believeth in him is not judged. But he that doth not believe is already judged: because he believeth not in the name of the only begotten Son of God. Is not judged... He that believeth, viz., by a faith working through charity, is not judged, that is, is not condemned; but the obstinate unbeliever is judged, that is, condemned already, by retrenching himself from the society of Christ and his church. 19 And this is the judgment: Because the light is come into the world and men loved darkness rather than the light: for their works were evil. The judgment... That is, the cause of his condemnation. 20 For every one that doth evil hateth the light and cometh not to the light, that his works may not be reproved. 21 But he that doth truth cometh to the light, that his works may be made manifest: because they are done in God. He that doth truth... that is, he that acteth according to truth, which here signifies the Law of God. Thy law is truth. Psa. 118. 142. A real Christian is supposed to be willing to witness to others of their personal relationship with Christ. WE are, however, NOT supposed to judge them. That is God's job...we are supposed to simply LOVE THEM. We are supposed to care for those in need, "like a thief in the night, not allowing anyone to know of our good works." Our rewards do not come from other's knowing what we do, but from our Heavenly Father who knows all that we feel, think and do. Personally, I believe that you do need to accept Christ as the son of God, who willingly gave himself to die for the sins of all mankind. Then, believing this, you invite him into your heart and life...this act, this leap of faith, is our acknowledgment of his sacrifice... The bible indicates that Christ was afraid and would wish there was another way for him to go..but nonetheless, when it was time, he gave himself over to this sacrifice, WILLINGLY, as an unblemished lamb in the "old tradition" in order to prepare the way for the NEW LIFE we are expected to lead. Our WILLINGNESS to take what can seem like an impossible leap of faith...is our sacrifice of self...of giving over to something that might seem impossible to believe...but doing it just the same. It is our ACCEPTANCE of his gift to us...by our faith. I would like to think that by your choices in life, you are already on a path that will lead you to knowing Christ...you may not be there yet...but probably will get there in time. Only believe...and know too...the better you try to live your life...the more attractive you become to he who would LOVE to see you fail...Satan is also real and nothing delights him more than to lie to us, divert us from having a relationship with God..and pervert all good things. HE is as good at lying and deception, as God is at loving and truth. It's all he has to work with!
  • For the sake of argument say there is a omnipotent deity that created the universe. To beleive that anyone, would know the anything, about this being, is the single greatest display of human arrogance. Our imaginations have proven to be incapable of truly understanding the most infinitesimal aspect of the creation (the universe around us), never mind the creator, and for any person to assume they understand this being, is fundamentally presumptuous. You sound like your a good person living a good life make the most of your time here and dont fret that other stuff. I am convinced that many Christians are really good people, many of whom do not beleive that you are destine for hell, in fact many question its existences.
  • Yeah, sorry. You're going to hell according to them. At least some of them have the decency to tip-toe around it to avoid saying it directly. Although, some Catholics believe that everyone is a Catholic no matter what religion they think they follow, and that dying is all they need to do to get to heaven.
  • Its not mine to decide. John 14:6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. How would you interpret that?
  • Qur'an: 002.111 And they say: None entereth paradise unless he be a Jew or a Christian. These are their own desires. Say: Bring your proof (of what ye state) if ye are truthful. 002.112 Nay, but whosoever surrendereth his purpose to Allah while doing good, his reward is with his Lord; and there shall no fear come upon them neither shall they grieve. 002.113 And the Jews say the Christians follow nothing (true), and the Christians say the Jews follow nothing (true); yet both are readers of the Scripture. Even thus speak those who know not. Allah will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that wherein they differ.
  • Im a Christian but I don't belive in everything in the bible, because the bible was maded by man not god. I think as long as you belive there is a god from any religions you go to heave. If you think about it not wanted to piss anyone off with there religion, in every religion there is a god of some kind well a higher being and as long as you belive in that I think you go to heavn. that what i feel sorry if i upset ANYONE
  • The majority of American christians don't believe that. http://www.csmonitor.com/2009/0114/p02s02-usgn.html
  • Speaking as a Christian, I cannot and will not say that you are going to hell because I don't know. I will tell you this though, being a good person won't get you to heaven. There is only one way to heaven, Jesus Christ. You must be born-again. You must accept the free gift of eternal life provided by Jesus. You must take a step and believe that Jesus is who He claims to be. Of course if you decide not to take a step of faith and feel that being good is good enough then you will most likely disregard what I'm saying. Romans 10:9-10 "That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved. 10 For with the heart man believes to righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made to salvation." I'm simply relaying to you what Scripture says about salvation.
  • The question is, why would it matter what anyone thinks except you and the God you honor? God doesn't take advice from Christians, it is the other way around, I hear. You are good. Why would you go to hell? God is not a Christian. Nor does he favor any certain religion.
  • Here's the problem. There are only two places available, Heaven, and Hell. Heaven is God's Home. Why would He bring a total stranger, no matter how 'good', if He doesn't know you? Second, God is Perfect, and requires perfection in His Presence. You may indeed be good by your own definition. But can you honestly say you've NEVER done anything wrong in your entire life? Without accepting the free gift of salvation, nobody actually qualifies for Heaven. And that doesn't leave a lot of alternatives.
  • Speaking as a Christian, I can say "Amen" to several earlier responses who cited scripture to support their beliefs. Jesus Himself said "I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through me." That sounds rather narrow and elitist, but it isn't, really. Just before He died, Jesus also said "It is finished." I believe that, by saying this, Jesus was declaring that He had indeed completed the work of salvation for all mankind by offering Himself as the sacrificial lamb. His blood washed away all of the sins of all of the world. And it is His blood that cleanses us of all unrighteousness - even to the point that we can actually stand righteous in the presence of a holy and perfect God. So to anyone trusting in their own goodness to get them to heaven, I say: "When your life is ended and you stand before God, the question asked of you will not be 'What did you do?' but 'What did you do with Jesus?'" How anyone could reject the kind of love that God offers to all of us is beyond me. But, even if everything else I believe turns out to be wrong, I know in the heart of my heart that God is in every way righteous and just, and, therefore, justified in dealing with us in whatever manner He chooses.
  • Oh yeah! You're gonna rot in "hell" (whatever that place is located at) for eternity! You've gotta go through JESUS....hold on, I need to get this right, my father is a baptist preacher but it's been a while since last time I was in church......ahhhh.....yes! You gotta go through......or under......or behind a fellow named JESUS and then......ahhhh....let me see....gee what else?.....oh you've gotta speak in tongue too......I think! So yeah, you might be a good person and everything but you're in deep shit! Good luck to you!
  • A good way to answer this question is with a hypothetical story. Say you are caught for speeding. The cop clocked you going 110 in a 65. Several other people saw you going that fast including three people in your own car. You would never think to stand before a judge and tell him that you don't deserve to be punished because you are otherwise a good person. If the judge is just, he will still understand you deserve to be punished for what you did. The Bible tells us that if we do anything--ANYTHING--wrong in our entire lives, we deserve to go to hell because it is not innocent: it is rebellion against God. Because we have all done something wrong, we ALL deserve hell. At the same time, God loves us and made a way for us to escape hell by allowing His Son to accept the punishment that was intended for me on Himself. The idea is called "Substitutionary Atonement." Jesus Christ took your place so you wouldn't have to worry about whether or not you are "good enough" to get to heaven. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man cometh unto the Father but by me." If you want assurance that you are in fact going to heaven when you die, all it takes is a simple request to Jesus to save you from the things you have done wrong and forgive you for them. That's it.
  • Without Christ your works are dead. Jesus said in John 3:3 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again (from above), he cannot see the kingdom of God. You don't go to heaven thru "being good" or "doing good". Psalm 14:1b They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good. Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. The gift that God gives is saving faith.
  • God is judge not me. We have to meet his standards and that is not how good we are.
  • The Bible teaches that a person cannot earn their way into Heaven by practicing good works. A true Christian is created by God to do the good works without he or she boasting about it. Ephesians 2:8-10 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."
  • im hardly a Christian and do mostly all you do, but you seem better than me!! as i dont do lots for charity lately but apparently God needs you to love ♥ him etc and do what he wants ..he says good deeds dont get ya into heaven
  • FIRST: in Christianity, there is no one who "lives a good life" excepting Jesus. NO ONE - excepting Jesus and PERHAPS excepting those who die very young - are DESERVING of Heaven. *** Answering the question: that depends on the flavor of Christian. Some would immediately answer, "Yes, of course you are. Those who do not believe in Jesus will not receive eternal salvation." Some would be just as quick to answer to the contrary (especially those Christians who don't believe in Hell, of which there are many, mostly minor sects.) And: some of us would admit that we don't know one way or the other. We only know what the Bible teaches, that those who are devout believers/followers are guaranteed eternal life, and that no such guarantee is given to others.
  • I am not a "believer" and I know I will NOT be going to hell.

Murzy: to be fair: you BELIEVE that. Reasonably, I don't think that you can KNOW that. Likewise I BELIEVE that there is a Heaven and a Hell. I do not KNOW that.

As you’ll see from the following scriptural points, hellfire is actually not a literal place of torment, as is believed to be by some. The word translated “Hell” in some Bible translations came from the original word “Sheol” in the Hebrew language and “Hades” in the Greek language. Faithful people in the Bible were spoken of as going to or being in Sheol or Hades (Job 14:13; Acts 2:27). So, Sheol and Hades could not refer to eternal destruction by fire. Plus the scriptures indicate that the dead are unconscious and know nothing at all (Ecclesiastes 9:5,10). Thus, we understand the words Sheol and Hades to mean the common grave of mankind. So that establishes that you don’t have to worry about burning in hellfire for all eternity. What I think you’re trying to get to bottom of is, since you do good things and live a virtuous life (and that’s a very good start), is that good enough receive eternal salvation, if you don’t have God in it? To answer those things, we can look into the Bible. Before the flood of Noah’s day, many people (most of whom may have been decent, non-violent) were destroyed because they did not take note of what was going on around them, they were too caught up in the mundane matters of life (Matthew 24:37-39), and the same thing would be happening in our day. Also, Jesus said “Happy are those conscious of their spiritual need” (Matthew 5:3). So this establishes that we need to do more than just be a good person, that we need to have a relationship with the true God. The scriptures also discuss the steps we need to take in order to develop and solidify our relationship with God. We need to take in knowledge of him (John 17:3), and we need to love God with all of our heart (Deuteronomy 6:5; Matthew 22:37). Then we need to repent of any major sins we have committed (Acts 2:37,38). Then afterwards we dedicate our lives to God and symbolize that by baptism like Jesus and others did (Matt 3:16,17; Acts 8:26-36; 9:15-18; Acts 10:30-33). We must also obey God’s commands (1 John 5:3) and mold our personality with godly, spiritual qualities instead of fleshly thinking (Romans 12:2; Galatian 5:19-24). We must also understand what God’s true plan for salvation is. Many churches claim that ultimate salvation is going to Heaven when you die. But the Bible actually teaches throughout several scriptures that people will live forever right here on earth in peaceful conditions (Psalm 37:11,29; Isaiah 11:6-9 and 65:22,23; Revelation 21:3,4). There will be no more wars (Psalm 46:9; Isaiah 2:4), hunger (Psalm 72:16), sickness or disabilities (Isa 33:24, 35:5,6). Also, dead loved ones who have died will come back to life in a resurrection and will have the opportunity to live on earth again (John 5:28,29; Acts 24:15). But of course, the earth is far from being a paradise right now, and in order for this to happen, God will have to step in with divine intervention and eliminate all human rulership (Daniel 2:44) in a war called Armageddon (Revelation 16:14,16). The scriptures indicate that we’re in the last days of this system of things and the time is getting near for God to act (Matthew 24:3,6,7; Luke 21:10,11; 2 Timothy 3:1-5). But this is not something we should fear, it means much better conditions to come. • If you don't believe in God, that means you only believe in yourself, which is classed as idolatry in the bible. Unbelief means you are not unified to God and it is God that gives you life. Romans 11:20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not high-minded, but fear: for if God did not spare the natural branches [because of unbelief], He will not spare you either. Take notice, therefore, of the kindness and severity of God: severity to those who fell, but kindness to you, if you continue in His kindness, And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graft them in again. Hebrews 3:12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. Hebrews 4:6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief: Gods wrath is described as fire. Of course it's up to God to judge.
  • According to the Evangelicals, "I am the Way, the Truth and the Light, Nobody will go to the Kingdom of Heaven except through me" John 14.6 lol
  • “Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven." - Matthew 6:1
  • Do you really think you can buy or earn the stairway to heaven? In all other religions salvation is based upon what you do and God is helpless. In Christianity salvation is based upon what God has done. I've never been to heaven and I do not know the way there. Do you? If only there were a man that came down to us from heaven and will lead us into the way. Thank God that there is. John 3:12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? 13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. 14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: 15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
  • I only want to be "saved" by a Fireman. 😄
  • That is not for me to decide. If you go to hell, it is your choice, The Lord God gave you free will to determine your life and future.
