it's better to be silent and thought a fool than to open one's mouth and prove it
-
Or some happy medium in between
-
Not from my opinion. I think that sometimes people chose to say nothing for many different reasons. Maybe they think their opinion wouldn't matter to disagreement. It's up to the individual's comfort level.

If you keep quiet then you don't set limits. So the other person (assuming you are with someone) can read into your silence anything he/she wants. That might work in your favor..or it might work against you. If you remain silent because you are truly at a loss for words, that is probably smart. If you remain silent because you are afraid you'll regret what you would say, that is also smart. But if you remain silent because you're giving someone "the silent treatment"..well, that is very uncool. Happy Saturday! :)

Yes, at times, it can be exactly as you described in your question.
-
Sometimes, you can say everything, but it means nothing.
-
There are some situations, yes.
-
Generally, no. To say everything, you have to say quite a lot. You have to say enough. Too much and it just becomes confusing babble. How many times do you read a short answer on AB and wonder what the heck the person was trying to say?
-
At times.
-
no it isn't. saying nothing is exactly saying nothing. such an inane notion...
-
No, saying nothing is saying nothing, and sometimes saying nothing is the best option.
-
No. To say nothing is to say nothing.
-
Only while singing "You are everything and everything is you." or "Nothing from nothing leaves nothing." Then its okay.
-
.
-
In certain situations, yes.
-
Only when the silence is deafening.
-
Silence is Golden
-
Only sometimes. Often it's just being a wall of silence and it's hard to understand a wall.
-
no of course not. saying nothing can hint but its only a hint not a definite. then to say everything, that can mean nothing. but then is there such thing as nothing? if nothing is actually the meaning of nothing then it wouldn't deserve a name would it and as it does (nothing) it is technically something isn't it?
-
Silence speaks volumes.
-
Yes. When everything that is ever possible is said, each idea that is expressed has a relative equal weighing and is therefore indistinguishable from each other, hence no notion stands out from another. In the same sense, when nothing is said, no idea is expressed, and therefore no idea stands out from another. btw, philosophical questions will be the bane of my sanity...
-
No. That's like saying no one buying from you is always their fault
-
No
-
If it's something important that needs to be said: core values are meant to provide direction in clarity.

âAbraham Lincoln once posed the question: âIf you call a dogâs tail a leg, how many legs does it have?â and then answered his own query: âFour, because calling a tail a leg doesnât make it one,ââ Your question is like that.
