  • 1) Up until the 60's it was not uncommon for government officials to be involved in the klan 2) Unless they are caught doing violence, the 1st amendment allows them to their opinion even if it is vile
  • Because we have the freedom of speech and assembly. So, they have the right to get together and talk about whatever they want. If they are found committing illegal activity, then those individuals would be subject to the justice system. However, the whole group cannot be held liable for the actions of their members.
  • Because in America we have a constitution that allows free speech, even for complete morons like the KKK. It is better to allow idiots to have a voice than to suppress expression in a democracy, or a democratic republic like the US is.
  • Why do we tolerate McDonalds giving scholarships to Blacks and Hispanics while keeping white children down who are more qualified?
  • Because we take our First Amendment rights very seriously here. As long as the Klan, the Neo Nazis, and Westborough Baptist do not commit blatant crimes, they can say whatever they like. All they're really doing is exposing their own hate and ignorance for all to see.
