Honestly, I have never heard of a female referred to as a "troll". That term is generally used in reference to men who cruise the chat rooms in different sites looking for sex.

One who posts a deliberately provocative message to a newsgroup or message board with the intention of causing maximum disruption and argument. Basically, someone who starts drama for the laugh.
