I talk to Spoony the cat all the time. She actually understands a good bit of English and has taught me to understand and speak some Felis catus as well.

I do talk to them. I guess, yea, similar to how I would talk to a baby, my female cat I hold like an infant baby every morning! She "tells me to hold her" (by meowing like crazy until I do!) lol

I speak to my dogs in a reformed british accent.

I talk to my cats but not like they are babies...I always ask about their adventures when they come in from being outside! They always come in talking...snd I respond with things like, "Wow, that sounds dangerous", "what a close call", "OH, I think you're exaggerating", "no, you don't say", or "ummm, I think you've told me this before"...silly stuff like that. I love my cats...they are each so different...such unique personalities.

Ha, I do actually, and sometimes I get a strange sense of guilt, like they can understand me and are probably thinking "Jesus, why is this creep talking to me like that?" so then I suddenly say, "Um, sorry obviously I must sound stupid..." but then I feel even more stupid...

I do talk to my Dogs same as I talk to any friend. But not like talking to infants. I talk to them like talking to adult friends and the talking clears my mind as they don't talk back.

Nah i just talk to him like he is a regular person, he got attacked by a dog yest and i did baby him then, he is allright.

Yes I talk to our dog like a person. He does NOT LISTEN, he still lets gas go in every room of the house. I tell him take it into another room, he just looks at me as if he doesn't know what I am saying, but I know he does!

My wife and i are the king and queen of baby talk to our border collie. He is so intelligent, that he deserves baby talk and a mountain of praise. He has the IQ of a five year old. And yes, he gets his way most of the time.
