  • world seems an illusion...so i don't mind about security..
  • I'd say more of a glass ceiling you hope doesnt shatter, and crash down on you : )
  • Life is an Illusion.....lol In many ways yes it is..
  • More like psychological. My neighbors have told me time and time again, that they feel secure with my police car sitting in my driveway.
  • Some people believe all life is illusory..so for them, yes. I don't agree..of course I have no way of knowing what is "real" and what is imagination/illusion. Does it really matter? One's perception of what is true and what is not is all that matters, isn't it? :) ((hugs))
  • No! It is a real breathing part of life!
  • All feelings are illusory, the result of a felicitous combination of brain chemicals.
  • It can be at times. The feeling of security can be misleading.
  • Some aspects of it yes. Of course we will continue to use locks and alarm systems, but hiring more people to stand out at the airport isn't protecting anyone.
  • To a certain extent. Look at all the jobs that have been lost and businesses (that everyone thought were mainstays) that have failed. As far as physically, you could be walking down the street or driving and someone else could lose control and you could be killed. If an assassin wants to take someone out, I think anyone could be killed unless they stayed locked in a vault. But, not to be paranoid, these are really all anomalies.
  • I think it is. The power of nature ( like earthquakes, floodings, lightnings etc) or the antics of your own body are constant unstable forces. Some scientists say that our life is an illusion. Well, I personally take life as an adventure, which really excludes security.
  • Sometimes....
  • I believe it is. Though we may be living in an illusory world created by generations of perceptions, our understanding of it can help us deal with it better. Rather than looking at it as an illusion, I could also look at it as a state of mind, security in contentment, of being happy with what I have, and in understanding well that my security lies not in attaching to things but in knowing that I'm part of this whole process of cosmic change. It is then up to me to ask myself, "do I want to be a promoter of life in this world of change or do I prefer to be its destroyer?" The decision is mine. Little do I am, but I am one of these forces for I have my own decision that no one can take away from me.
  • The realization of same has been the true existential *nightmare* of my whole life. I even remember *nocturnal dreams* of this theme as a small child! "The horror...the horror..." ;-)
  • No. Feeling Safe, is not an illusion. it can mislead i suppose, but it is not an illusion. living in a house with no locks or alarms would make you a target and more likely for something to happen to you, making you unsafe, am i not correct?
