  • I think it is beautiful.
  • No. I think that is one of the most beautiful and sacred scenes on this earth.
  • There's no reason why the photo would be obscene. It's all part of the beautiful miracle of mother and child.
  • Absolutely not.
  • No...she's taking care of her baby. More than what some people can say in this world about taking care of their own.
  • no, i do however feel its a shame...a shame that a perfectly exposed tit is being blocked by some stupid baby.
  • I'm still getting over the shock of having discovered that women give birth to NAKED babies. And now You stir things up again! BWAAAHAA!
  • No, there is a reason why this person was put on facebook, no matter what the reason. what is the link to the pic?
  • No.I think it is beautiful.
  • Not unless the woman is gray haired, and the baby is in their 40's
  • No. But I don't find very much obscene.
  • Not at all.
  • My mother has a photo of her breastfeeding me when I was born. I do not think this is obscene. I was her first child, for her it was special to know she was enabling me to live. However, posting an image of a baby being breast-fed on facebook for all to see, is slighlty different- I think it depends on how much boob is showing. You can keep things reasonably covered up when breastfeeding, so photos not dispalying all that much would be more suitable for a public website, in my opinion.
  • No. We are mammals, that is the natural way we evolved to feed our young. It is a beautiful bonding experience for mother and child. How could the image of such an event be obscene?
  • For those with prurient interests, I guess they just see SOMEone suckling a breast, no matter that there's at least a touch of pedophilia in them, if they "get off" on a baby doing so. For others, they see a baby being fed (and in most cases, the aureole will be completely covered/hidden by the baby's mouth/head.) Therefore, there's nothing "sexual" about it. And, for others, there's just that thought of jealousy! LOL On Facebook, there are too many children/teens, and many of the males (at least) would look at it like we used to (and they probably still do) look at National Geographic. (Uh... Let's just say it's a "titillating subject!) For me, I don't care. No... I don't find it obscene. Most women who do so in public, though, need to realize that it's NOT something that's "normally" seen, so people will stare, or try VERY hard NOT to.
  • No. unless it shows the nipples and/or areola. Celebrities show their breasts all the time in some of their dresses, are they arrested? No, they are not. Edit: Also, the celebrities don't seem to cause controversy over what I mentioned (Except when their top falls off and whatnot), But seeing the controversy is over Facebook it seems, there are still minors on something like that, so maybe that's why they're making such a big deal?
  • While the top answer says it is a beautiful part of life. I am still of the mind that it can be done elsewhere. Not in public, and certainly not in a picture (unless you would take it for a personal scrapbook or something) There are so many cuter things you can take pictures of when you have a baby!
  • Only in America.
  • Not at all. And the Madonna breast feeding the Christ child is a frequent theme in very reverent and conservative Christian art: http://farm1.static.flickr.com/204/508119673_7285e992d7.jpg?v=0 http://www.tulipgirl.com/mt/archives/MadonnaAndChild.jpg http://www.artemisia-gentileschi.com/images/Madonna-Child.jpg http://farm1.static.flickr.com/218/508119841_19aa154efa.jpg?v=0
  • No, I think it's a part of the beautiful scenes in life. It's just like a naked person, it's beautiful it it's own way, or a picture of a pregnant mother naked. It's part of the beauty in life. People need to look beyond the "it's not inappropriate or it's porn" image, it's not it's one of God's greatest creations on this earth.
  • of course not.
  • no, but it sure does make me thirsty!:-p
  • No, they are making a big deal outta nothing! It's feeding a baby, totally natural! : O )
  • No. It's natural and normal, and the opposite of obscene.
  • Anyone who thinks it obscene is not a parent..anyone who is a parent won't think it is obscene. Simple as that! :) Happy New Year's Eve Day! :)
  • I don't think that kind of picture is obscene, but I note that this question was posed in the Facebook category and I don't really think that is an appropriate forum for those kinds of pictures.
  • No I do not, not at all, it's a beautiful thing, but I do question why one needs to be shown so as to cause controversy. You can show breastfeeding in a modest fashion if that would appease the website.
  • Having not looked at the picture mind you... Im going to say that no, it is never obscene... Not unless it is done indescreetly and with the intent to either shock or shove it in someones face that doesn't approve. I also dont approve of mothers that breast feed their kids past the age of walking. Mom... If they are old enough to ask for it... they are ready for a bottle!
  • No, it's natural, soon people will complain about medical shows showing baby deliveries. People are too sensitive.
  • No. What I find offensive is the belief that breastfeeding Mothers are offenive!
  • I think Facebook lost their minds on that one. Yes, arguably, some people have twisted fetishes, but to think of those pictures as obscene one has to have a completely deranged mind.
  • While I don't find a photo of breast feeding to be obscene, I do believe companies have the right to set their own standards and terms of service for members.
  • hello, no its completely innocent, theres nothing wrong with that.its a wonderful thing a mother tending to an infant.i see nothing wrong, however the mother should seek a safe place, away from prying eyes, breast feeding is between mom and baby.
  • No, and photos of breatfeeding are only considered obscene when the person looking at them sees breasts as sexual objects. Breasts are beautiful for more than being incredibly sexy. They give food and life to a baby, all the while providing comfort and warmth for the mother's own little baby. I always feel warm inside when I see photos of mother and baby, with breasts bared or not. My mother breast fed all four of her children, and I intend to do the same. In public, in private- whenever and wherever my baby's hungry. In my opinion, viewing breast feeding as obscene is closed-minded and immature.
  • As long as the baby's eyes are closed, I see nothing obscene about it.
  • A photo of a breast with the nipple missing is obscene as long as the others a cracker though (no offence to breast cancer sufferers)
  • I have no problem with a photo of a baby on a womans breast. UNLESS the woman is completely naked or dressed in a really sexual way. I saw one photo on the net of a baby breast feeding from a naked mom while the husband was naked beside her with a really sexual look in his eye. It was kinda gross!
  • Breastfeeding is a perfectly natural act. There's nothing obscene about it unless you have a dirty mind.
  • Seeing a woman actually breast feed is not obscene. Seeing a painting or drawing of a woman breast feeding is not obscene. Someone showing you a picture of them breast-feeding is only obscenely egomaniacle.
  • No. It's a natural and beautiful nurturing process. On that note, I don't get alot of the stigma about nudity in general. We all know what naked people look like, and most of us have genitals... so what's the big deal? Sorry, tangent...
  • Not at all.
  • No, it's natural!
  • Not at all.
