Last year it did- I was down to double digits. This year though, thankfully, I was a little more reserved with my generosity.

Good question! Fortunately, I don't overextend myself at Christmas or any other time and still purchased what was at the tops of their lists. I do a lot of research on items I'm looking to purchase and I purchase the best quality for the best prices. I like to think I'm a smart shopper.

Not at all. I usually shop all year a little here and there so it doesn't become a burden during the holidays. I was finished by August.

No although it was expensive but I have some incredibly large bills coming up the beginning of January. Plus all the quarterly household bills.

Pretty much, but my great nieces and nephews are worth it!

Nope..never has and never will. I buy what I can afford after I've set aside money for the essentials. Don't understand how people can do otherwise! :)

No, if I can't pay cash for it I don't buy it. It is nice to know that when it is wrapped and under the tree it is all paid for and I don't have to worry about it anymore. Would I have loved to buy more for people, absolutly but I will NOT go into debt over Christmas.

Ha, it always does, my friend!:)

No, our family and my husband and I decided long ago that gifts are NOT bought because it is Christmas. Gifts are welcomed by smaller children - and all our children and grandchildren are grown up. Times change. But I never went over my budget in earlier years.

No. I think it had more to do with CEO's I sponsored this year under various bailouts.
