  • I am hoping you mean static shocks?? Cool weather brings it on. I wish I could explain why, but that's the catalyst anyway.
  • Do you have much carpet around your house? Friction from shoes could cause this.
  • Is it cloudy out? Maybe there's a lightening storm coming.
  • An angry wife with a taser could make that happen. Have you been naughty?
  • Dry air brings it on....just like static on clothes that come out of the dryer. If you boil a pot of water on the stove for a short amount of time it will add humidity to the air and no more shocks. Well you have to redo the water boiling off and on. It don't stop it like forever.
  • Static electricity. Try raising the humidity in your house.
  • lightning-high pressure and low pressure converging or hot and cold air systems
  • Tribocharging: Read-up on it.
  • Lack of moisture in the house (dry heat), I boil water in a big pot on the stove to reduce it and it helps with the moisture in your skin also.
  • You'll have to clarify the source in order to identify the cause of these "electric shocks". When you stick your toungue in a electric socket, walk across the livingroom rug in your socks, stil a rubbed balloon on your head full of static cling. Too many potential variable''s in the equation to come up with a solution with the givin information.
  • The air in your house is too dry. I used to get those shocks all the time in my old house, where the air in winter was as dry as anything, until I moved into my new house. With a comfortable level of humidity in our house now, we rarely get those shocks. Try increasing the humidity in your home, through your humidifier, houseplants, etc.
  • you're wearing different socks today.
  • Me, too, Thebyann. Static electricity zaps me from time to time. I'm not sure why certain times of the year it seems more prevalent. Just yesterday when I was taking clothes out of the dryer I got zapped! Happy Thursday to you! :) ((hugs))
  • electric shocks are caused by dry air and friction, like shuffling on a shag rug & touch and object. i get shocks more so in winter and fall because of the dry air, but not spring or summer which there is humidity in the air.
  • Foot wear with rubber soles should eliminate this. Leather soled foot wear on rugs can really built up a great charge. Low humidity during winter helps create this situation.
