  • 4 i think
  • My cousin's son was trained at 3 years old.
  • My 2 year old is trained, I think it depends on the child.
  • Get a copy of Azrin and Nunn's "Toilet Training in Less Than a Day." It worked for me, five times perfectly.
  • You'll know based on your child. Everybody is different. Some kids can start being trained early (such as holding them over a toilet when you remove the diaper to 'promote' the automatic reflex of cold air causing them to urinate in the toilet), but others just don't take to it until they decide it's time. You can't force this on a child, that ends up backfiring more than it works.
  • Its not an age. Its when your child knows they are wet. If you can ask them and they give you the right answer then its time. If they tell you they need a new diaper its time. Usually its around 2 and a half when they can start but some take a week some take months to complete the training. Make it a huge deal about being grown up they will want it more. Make sure thats its not around a busy time like the holidays and plan to go to the bathroom. If you like to be outside also plan this in less than 30 min intervals and make sure they pee before you go out.
  • The perfect age is the age at which your toddler shows he/she is ready to potty trained. My child was physiologically ready. She was dry at night right from the beginning. But she is stubborn and didn't want to learn and it took a year until she was pretty much reliable. She still has an accident once a month or so two years out. But I don't know that anything would have been gained by waiting. She is that way about every new task. She was able to hold it and control it until she could get her pants down and she knew when she needed to go, so it was probably the right time. I've known of other kids that were ready to 18 months. It just depends on the kid.
