  • I'm sure that varies model to model, but I can tell you this much: I used the squirrel cage housing and impeller from a Ford Pinto with the motor from an old house fan to move air through the plenum on my wood furnace. Typically, the blowers sold for that purpose will put out around 300 CFM (they're noisy and expensive) and this Rube Goldberg setup put out slightly less volume (about 200-250 would be my guess). The house fan motor turns at about the average speed of the car heater motor, so I figure the output (in the car) is roughly 200 CFM. How's that for a meandering answer?
