Invite in friends and neighbors.

start your own holiday tradition with close friends or volunteer at a shelter,

I am not in that position but if I were, I would buy gifts and take them to the nearest senior center, spend a few hours there visiting with the elderly who don't have any visitors. Then I would go over to the local animal shelter and take them some warm blankets, food and supplies they need.

I suppose I'll be finding out. No one in my family is doing Christmas and I don't have children or a spouse. And I know I told you before I planned to volunteer but that was before the court here made a mistake about whether or not my license is suspended (the cop says it is. I KNOW that it isn't) and so now I can't go anywhere until at least February. So I'll be at home and without my license I can't even get booze so I'll very likely be sober too!!! Goddamn holidays!!!
-
Sounds like a page from my life. I plan to drink some rum and coke and watch old Christmas programs on television.
-
Make like a Jew and have a party!

Go down to the shelter before the rooster's even get up and help with the cooking, serving and playing santa's helper, spend an hour or two crawling around in the floor with the kids(that way I can play with the toys too,,lol) Then give hugs and kisses on my way out the door to go home, take a shower and relax :)

You be willing to go it alone. Maybe stuff will come up. But the holiday should be about loved ones wanting to be together - not forcing it.
-
When I was single....I would find a friend that is in the same position as me and we would spend the holiday together. If there wasn't anybody, I'd stay at home and read...rent movies.
-
