  • The churches have that control and the politicians have their hands on the controls (as ever - that is the contract between church and state - mutual support). Just look around you to see how the control is affecting everyday life - shops and entertainment curtailed on Sundays to try and improve church attendance. Wailing from tall towers at all times of day and night. Not going out after sundown on Fridays. Electoral pressure. Birth control pressure. etc etc
  • Have you ever seen the Vatican? WOW they got money ! :D Another example is televangelists, they get so many followers, they even have a considerable impact on presidential elections. Anther example are Islamic theocracies, or Imams advocating things.
  • they take your money and offer you heaven . the worst Ponzi scheme going
  • I don't think the PURPOSE of religion is social control. The control was a side effect. It was used that way by the catholic church for many centuries, and is still being used like that in Islamic Theocracies. - In the "west," is still controls, but there is no one person at the reigns. Its like a team of horses who have lost their cart and their driver and are running around still tied to eachother. People are held back by their beliefs, but are no longer under anyone's direct control.
  • Dennis Lambert and his Aldis Lamp.
  • (Revelation 12:7-9) And war broke out in heaven: Miʹcha

  • Virtually no statement of a truth is absolutely 100% true all the time. That is especially true of a statement of a social statement like this and no entity will ever "have control" but may have some measure of control. For those who are devout in their religion there is possibly a high level of control. For those without a belif in religion there is little to no social control. Societies globaly still feel some pressure to adhere to religious controls but that presure in on the decline. Higher levels of education, statistically, are less effected and lower levels of education are more effected in terms of religious control. The implication of the post is that it is pretty much all or nothing and that is not the reality.
