It depends on which of the gospels is referenced. According to Luke it was , "Father, into your hands I commit my spirit." According to John it was, "It is finished."
-
'Father, forgive them for they know not what they are doing'. Not the exact words from the gospels but from my understanding of the gospels.
-
Depending on the translation: "It is done" "It is finished" "It is accomplished"

Luke 23:46 And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.

I can't believe they ate the whoooole thing. . . . For believers he didn't die. For the more rational, he must have died after the biblical account ended so no record exists. +5

"Peter... I can see your house from here... "

He was to have been hanging on the cross for some hours and , obviously, just this side of death. So I assume he was mighty weak. . And he was hanging several feet above any potential listener's head. . So I assume that any last words he might have whispered or mouthed went unheard. And since the only two reports of them differ quite wildly, I assume that they - like the rest of the story - were made up or greatly embellished. +5 But DR, oh Christian soldiers... :-)

it is finished

Literal word for word quotes were almost never used by ancient historians and biographers. That being said, Matthew and Mark have Jesus quote the first line to "the crucifixion Psalm" (Psalm 22) but nothing in the narratives suggests that Jesus stopped there, and in fact they indicate he cried out just before he died, without mentioning any words. John has Jesus quote the end of Psalm 22, but with a twist - instead of saying "For thou hast done it", Jesus says "It is done!" In Greek, it's "Tetelestai!" Luke, writing to a Roman audience with no knowledge or appreciation of Psalm 22, but wishing to emphasize it's about Jesus' sacrifice, submission, and obedience, has Jesus commend his spirit into God's hands - which is at least consistent with the theme of Psalm 22. So, if I had to bet on it, I'd say Jesus recited Psalm 22.

"The gospel writers record seven statements uttered by Jesus while he was on the cross: "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do." (Luke 23:34) "Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise." (Luke 23:43) "Woman, behold, your son!" (John 19:25-27) "E′li, E′li, la′ma sa‧bach‧tha′ni?" (Matthew 27:46; Mark 15:34) (Aramaic for "My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?") "I thirst." (John 19:28) "It is finished." (John 19:30) "Father, into your hands I commit my spirit!" (Luke 23:46)" Source and further information: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crucifixion_of_Jesus

It is finshed. He had completed his mission to save his elect from the penalty of sin - eternal hell - he had finished the job once and for all. Whoever believes in Him shall not die but have eternal life.
-
This day you will be with me in paradise.
-
According to john the last thing he said was "Teleo", which means completed. According to Matthew and Mark he cried out and died, but did not say what he cried out According to Luke after he cried out he said "pater eis sou cheir paratithemi mou pneuma", which means father into your hands I commmend my spirit

There's zero contemporaneous historical evidence that Jesus ever lived, let alone died. I suspect that many of you don't know that not a word was written about Jesus (and that includes the Gospels) until a minimum of two generations after he was ALLEGED to have lived.
-
Wow! I could have had a V-8!

He actually made quite a few statements (he was still alive and cognitive the majority of the time that he was on the cross). The Gospels record some of the sayings as the author's heard/received them. Same thing as the sign over the cross. You have four distinct accounts from four unique individuals. This is what happens in court. You listen to each testimony and get the whole picture.
