    What do you mean by rebuild? And what do you mean by "broke"? Woodburning fireplaces have to meet many codes, and be U.L. listed. Most "handyman" style repairs are dangerous, and could lead to a home fire. Keep in mind that any repairs to your fireplace that don't comply with ALL codes and restrictions, could void your fire insurance on your homeowners insurance.
