My favorite is "Cow Jumping Day" ,a weeks celebration of beer drinking and cow jumping. Each one gets on a spring board and jumps a series of cows.Evil Knievel would be envious of such feats of daring.

We have Burns Night. We have the Burns Supper, involving a lot of kilts and Scottish country dancing, and speeches and things, and it's just good.

I think we only have one unique to ouor country, that is Waitangi day, Feb 6th, its in the middle of summer, so everyone always loves having a day off from work !!

Guy Fawkes Day! Woo! Roasting catholics on a fire! (straw ones- don't go getting all offended)

Martin Luther King Jr. Day. I see someone corrected you, Canada also celebrates Thanksgiving in October. My favorite is New Years Day, that is when I don't have to work that day. Christmas isn't the same now.

Well, in Melbourne Australia we have a public holiday for a horse race. The 1st Tuesday in November for the Melbourne Cup. It has developed into a four day weekend (in Australia we LOVE a long weekend!) Most countries have a public holiday for their national day... I think Australia and New Zealand share Anzac Day? (Do we???) Anyway, I love Melbourne Cup Day because it is the only public holiday in the second half of the year. In the first six months there is New Year's Day and Australia Day in January, Moomba (Victoria's Labour Day holiday) in March, Anzac Day in April and Queens Birthday in June. Nothing again until November. We used to have a half day holiday in September for Show Day (again in Melbourne - guess where I come from!!!) Then nothing again until December with Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

I am in America and although has been pointed out, Thansgiving is not unique to the US, but it is my favorite holiday as well. I also celebrate Boxing Day which I believe is a Canadian holiday (December 26th). I have no idea what it is or what it celebrates, but I like it so I celebrate it!
