  • For me it was the 60's with the emergence of the Beatles, the Stones, Jefferson Airplane, The Doors, Cream, Hendrix, Ten Years After, Led Zeppelin, Santana, and Johnny Winter.
  • The 60's. All the great protest songs. Hendrix, Joplin, Santana, The Dead, The Who, Jefferson Airplane, Zeplin, the Beatles. I mean how could you not say the 60's.
  • I can appreciate most of the music made in most of any decade. If I had to pick one, that would be the 70's. (or at least mid-60's onwards) That era marked a transition from rock and roll being an new phenomenon and losing some of its innnocence and "bubblegum" quality. There were many changes not only in musical terms but also in society and worldwide events. Those were years of turmoil, rebellion, that was reflected on the kind of music being made and also on the lyrical content. That made for more interesting music, and the incorporation of many different influences which prompted the birth of many sub-genres.
