you could easily pick up fungus and tons of bacteria on the floor. then touching your feet and putting your hands in your mouth. you have to think people spit on the ground and wipe it with their shoe. or smash an insect. or kick a dead animal...and it is now all over your feet.

No. I a lot of people have nasty looking feet not to mention horrible smelling feet that nobody wants to see or smell. Plus, schools have dirty hallways that could be filled with potentially dangerous small items on the floors like glass, tacks, nails, etc and that is just asking for a lawsuit.

horrible idea. you can get sick!

We have one guy who walks around campus here barefoot all the time. He never wears shoes and was even interviewed for a piece in the school paper.

No...I don't know how other people live. I've seen homes where the carpets were covered with pet stains(trying to use nice words) and no one seemed to care to walk on it. I wouldn't want them to bring that to schools.

Not ok, ever.

Great habit in Africa and other forgotten places!

I went barefoot to elementary school. Most of the girls wore shoes but the boys went barefoot until the first cold spell or frost usually in November. We came out of our shoes usually in March. Never seemed to hurt us. Those were good days back in the early 1950s.
