  • It's not measured that way. Season, temperature, kind of feed, milk production, and the stage of lactation are all factors that would alter the water intake of cows. But roughly you could say that the ratio of drinking water to milk production is estimated at 4.5-5 lbs of water per lb of milk. So every day a milk cow will drink between 30-50 gallons of water.
