  • yeah he born from the womb of virgin. Its just believing not an argument.
  • No, Mary was a swinger. He was actually half-man, half-goose.
  • I think it highly unlikely.
  • Yeah, righhhhhhttttt. Sure. Mary was only abour 12 or 13, so I doubt the sex was consensual, or that she was even aware of what happened to her.
  • Gee that was so long ago, let me go ask my husband he was a teenager then.
  • It depends on who you ask, but I believe Joseph caught her fooling around with his rival, the Holy Spirit, on the back seat of his donkey. When Mary realized she was preggers, the H.S. flew the coop. That's why he is always pictured with wings. This left Joseph holding the bag, so to speak. But it worked out OK. As long as Jesus was around they never had to buy bread, fish, or wine. ========== ========== ========== ==========
  • Every first baby is a virgin birth since the woman has never had a child before.
  • Of course. While I don’t claim to know exactly how God managed such a feat, the scriptures are pretty clear on this subject: http://scriptures.lds.org/isa/7/14#10 http://scriptures.lds.org/1_ne/11/13-21#12 http://scriptures.lds.org/2_ne/17/14#14 http://scriptures.lds.org/alma/7/10#9 http://scriptures.lds.org/matt/1/18,22-25#18 http://scriptures.lds.org/luke/1/26-35#26 HTH!
  • Yes, and 2 different religions are based on a woman who really stuck to her story. No offense :) LOL
  • I'm sorry to do this but uh, what has made you feel otherwise?
  • personally speaking i think jesus had sex with mary his mother, in that jesus's spiritual sperm joined with mary's physical egg to create the jesus that was half mary and half jesus. we know jesus existed at the beginning of time. time being something only relative to humans. like in the matrix movie where the bullet was removed from the lady's body. so too the sperm could have been placed within mary to provide for the perfect time for conception. there must be a logical answer to this miracle, what?
  • Its weird, i've read that sharks have been giving virgin births. its just a way of nature helping out the species. Humans on the other hand, i don't know. i think that mary got knocked up before joseph had a chance at her and didn't tell anyone.
  • Yes, for Mary did not Biblically know a man at the time of her immaculate conception, which is why Joseph was at first ashamed of her, though that was before the angel of the Lord told him anything.
  • Is it possible for a cow to be born of a virgin birth? In fact nearly 100% of cows and bulls in the USA are born of virgin births. The mother cows have never been with a bull, instead they were artificially inseminated. Having babies without having sex is not rocket science. In addition to artificial insemination, there's in-vitro fertilization, egg implantation as well, and yes these techniques are done with humans as well as bovines. As to Jesus, most scholars agree that there was no reference earlier than 1000 AD saying that Mary was a virgin; rather it suited the times in 1000AD that she should be. Perhaps we should just take it as a powerful metaphor: She was good, she was pure, she was untainted by evil. In other words, virginal.
  • I see Sassywi-Qs point-but your question has me wondering. I feel as though you are asking if Mary conceived the baby the natural way-my assumption was that she got down to business and became prego with jesus unless jesus just automatically&magically came about...i can see how that would be possible too however because how does this world exist how do we know what happened back then. my feeling is she became pregnant the natural way and wether or not we want to believe they did the deed back then-then did. haha.
  • Jesus was born of a virgin. The angel Gabriel was sent from God to a virgin betrothed to a man named Joseph, of the house of David, and the virgin's name was Mary. And coming to her, he said, "Hail, favored one! The Lord is with you. Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name him Jesus." But Mary said to the angel, "How can this be, since I have no relations with a man?" And the angel said to her in reply, "The holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore the child to be born will be called holy, the Son of God." Mary said, "Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word." From Luke 1:26-38 http://www.nccbuscc.org/nab/bible/luke/luke1.htm With love in Christ.
  • It is my understanding that the virgin birth is a myth. Neither Mark nor Paul mention it. Matthew talks about Jesus virgin birth fulfilling a prophesy in Isaiah, even though the use of the word virgin in Isaiah is a mistranslation. It means young girl. Also, if we look through mythology that predates Christianity, we see many virgin births. Perseus was born of the virgin Danae in a Greek myth. Mithra was born of a vergin in a Persian myth. A Phoenecian myth has Adonis borh to the virgin Myrrh.
  • So we are told
  • Yes, Both Matthew and Luke (who interviewed Mary himself) attest to it.
  • Yes why do you ask?
  • Of course not. How absurd. His mother was a MARRIED WOMAN.
  • Apparently.
  • A B S O L U T E L Y ! UP TO WHAT IS THE Q. HERE? Bless, Prof. Mes
  • Yes, he possibly could of, but if he was it wasn't due to God. From my point of view God is a spiritual being that created the beginnings of our Universe, and what God started evolved into what we have today. And what created Jesus was possibly due to artificial insemination which our technology today can very possibly be accomplished and has and still continues to this day. If you ask me who would do such a thing, to me it would have to be beings outside our world wishing to have influence upon our world. These visiting beings can easily explain all the so called miracles of almost every religion. Those saying that believing is not an argument, This is not true. People have their own point of view, and those with another belief will argue amongst each other believing that one is right over another. One way to find your own truth is to put yourself in that time. What would you do if you have never seen anything technological, flying vehicles or modern medicine. At that time those people would be awe struck and call it a Miracle, An Angel, A Demon, and even a God. This was proven when foreigners visited a un-technological village by plane. These people have never seen anything like it before and these foreigners left the plane taught the villagers various skills and knowledge and then left. When they returned they found the villagers worshiping the plane as a God; by offering it food and praying to it. Those who ridicule another persons beliefs is only dis-regarding their own since everything is built upon believing and their own point of view. Even Atheists have their own beliefs and by disregarding others just means they aren't comfortable with their own.
  • Sure. Right. Yeah. But so were Perseus, Adonis, Tammuz, Mithras, Horus, and several dozen other mythic demigods. And guess what? They all died and were resurrected, and went to Heaven to be with their divine fathers. The whole cock-up stems from a mistranslation of the word עלמה (almah), which means "girl" or "young woman."
  • Seeing as no one really knows, you can only go with what you believe.
  • physically impossible...
  • No, it's not physically possible.
  • why does it matter
  • He wasn't born at all.
  • what kind of stupid question is this. every christian will say yes and every nonchristian will say no. or do you expect us to believe you did not know that? OH, asking mormons... yes mormons believe that.
  • Yes he was... but so were most of the mythic heroes. Apollo, Hercules, King Arthur, Oedipus, etc.. Here is their template. 1. The hero's mother is a royal virgin (virgin of royalty that is), while 2. his father is a king, and 3. the father is related to the mother. 4. The hero's conception is unusual or miraculous; hence 5. he is reputed to be a son of a god. 6. Evil forces attempt to kill the infant or boy hero, but 7. he is spirited away to safety and 8. reared by foster parents in a foreign land. Besides this, 9. we learn no details of his childhood until 10. he journeys to his future kingdom, where 11. he triumphs over the reigning king and/or a giant, dragon, or wild beast, and 12. marries a princess, often his predecessor's daughter, and 13. becomes king himself. 14. For a while he reigns uneventfully, 15. promulgating laws. But 16. he later loses favor with his subjects or with the gods and 17. is driven from the throne and the city and 18. meets with a mysterious death, 19. often atop a hill. 20. If he has children, they do not succeed him. 21. His body is not buried, yet 22. he has one or more holy sepulchers.
  • Technically speaking Mary had not known a Mortal man and therefore was a virgin. But make no mistake about it, God the Father was the literal Father of Jesus Christ. Otherwise Jesus could not have been The "ONLY" begotten of the Father. Read Luke 1;34,35.."Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? 35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God." The Angel mentions that two individuals would be with her. 1. The Holy Ghost, 2. The Power of the Highest. And who is the Power of the highest? There is no one higher than the Father. The Holy Ghost came upon her first to prepare her body so she could withstand the presence of the Father. Then the Father overshadowed her and she concieved and bare a Son, whom she called Jesus. Nothing magical, just simple normal reproduction. Except it was done on a much higher scale. Whew4
  • This is a quote that I love from the movie Dogma: "Mary gave birth to CHRIST without having known a man's touch, that's true. But she did have a husband. And do you really think he'd have stayed married to her all those years if he wasn't getting laid? The nature of God and the Virgin Mary, those are leaps of faith. But to believe a married couple never got down? Well, that's just plain gullibility."
  • A virgin birth is not impossible, artificial insemination will do it. To think of it as some kind of miracle is absurd.
  • Yes, Jesus was born of a virgin, according to scripture. Mary's lineage goes all the way to Aaron, Moses' brother. She is said to be the daughter of Aaron. Jesus' bloodline can be trace on Joseph's or Mary's side.
  • Well that is indeed something we will never really know now isn't it?
  • Jesus was born of a virgin birth, turned water into wine, walked on water, rose Lazarus from the dead, commanded storms to stop, created food from thin air, rose from the dead ... if you can believe one why would it be an obstacle to believe the virgin part?
  • I would say the Mary was a virgin before the birth, though her and her husband had sex in the traditional sense to have the seed planted. In other word I do not believe it was an immaculate conception.
  • If He wasn't then the simple fact is that He was literally a "bastard". Obviously - by virtue of the fact that I refer to Him in caps - I am NOT of that persuasion. I merely make this distinction as those who deny the virgin birth tend to ignore it.
