Maybe, for they are great pets, and if I get tired of them, I can drain it of milk, and then slaughter it for beef. As to the obvious analogy, I like women for the love they give and not the sexual kind.

I really have no interest in marriage, and wouldn't buy the cow either way.
-
Hmmmmmm,..... Why WOULD you buy a cow? Wait a minute! Is this one of those 'analogy' thingys? I guess it boils down to this,... Do you love the cow? If so, pay for the milk.
-
I would get the milk for free and sell it, saving up enough money to buy the cow.. in doing that, it would be like I got the cow for free :]
-
Well, you can't make love to milk. No friction!
-

Great question...it's a case of balance things. On the positive side: If I owned the cow I would get a free calf each year that I could eventually sell or eat. I could also sell some milk that was surplus or buy a calf that I could raise on my cow giving me two calves to sell or eat. On the negative side: I may have high feed cost depending on how much grass I have and how cold the winters are. There could be veterinary costs. How much time and energy do I have to check on and clean my cow and calves? Sorry I didn't really answer your qustion did I? lol

Most definitely buy the cow. It would mean I wouldn't have to cut the lawn anymore.
-
The real question is: do you swallow the milk?
-
Would you go home with the Farmer if you could get your udders done without becoming property?

No, I can't afford the cost associated with her....
-
yes although i am lactose intolerant.
-
i would buy the cow because i love to eat meat. if i got the milk for free i'd give it away because i am lactose intolerant sometimes and that would not help anyone if i drank it
-
Sure... Just so long as the cow wasn't a public facility and giving it way for free to everyone in the town too.
-
Wouldn't technically it would go hand-in-hand? If you buy the cow, you get the milk for free regardless.
-
it would be fiscally irresponsible of me to take on the care, feeding and housing of the animal if i got the benefits of ownership without investing in it. so, no.

I used to have a milk cow when i was a kid growing up on a farm. Here's what it involves 1) Buy the cow - Have her bred to a bull 2) Wait till she has the baby 3) Start getting up at 4:00 am to milk her 4) Milk again at 4:00 Pm BTW - this is every day - not just weekdays 5) Buy the feed 6) Clean the pen My answer, Just buy the milk.
