in arabic, the word for cotton candy is literally translated to "the hair of the girls."
-
I never did like to eat it, and after I spent a summer operating the cotton candy machine, which involved leaning over a bin and collecting the spinning candy on a paper cone, I hated it. We were not even made to wash up before "making" the cones, and we did not have to wear aprons or hats. UGH!

Love the taste of cotton candy. Just like the taste of may flies. The indians would collect them at their hatching and use them as sweeterners.
-
Light, fluffy, pretty and sweet. I like it.

I think it is unwise to eat it in the wind and it blows away and sticks to an old ladys' stocking legs! Yes, this happened to me.

Oh, dear! Sugar water. Nothing but empty calories - and so sticky and messy! But you know what? I will tell you something interesting. As a kid, my dad would let me have almost nothing sweet, because I was chubby (I now keep my weight down after losing 45 lbs. last year - low carbing!). I always LONGED to "JUST TRY" cotton candy! I kept insisting, and being sad when he would say "No." Finally, when I was well past 10, maybe even 12, my dad let us (it was just my mom, my dad, and me - alas, I'm an 'only') get one. I soon realized that there wasn't much to it - and all that longing kind of just went "poof"!! I never cared to have it again - and now, at 54, there is no way I would. Still - it is fun for a kid at the amusement park - keep those moist towelettes handy!!

Cotton candy is like delicious, sugary clouds of different colors. When you put it in your mouth you can think of a sweet adventure high in the sky.

Not good for diabetics and I doubt there is any sugar free types.

It's fun, it's tasty and it's sweet. It reminds of past good times at the fair.
